Akil Gulamali

Akil has been part of the team at Epsom Dental Care since 2008. He provides general and specialist restorative dental care. He is our Specialist Prosthodontist Akil works hard to deliver a high-quality service that focuses as much on the patient's comfort as possible. He also remains involved in current advancements in dentistry through his memberships with The International Team of Implantology, The British Society of Restorative Dentistry and The British Society of Prosthodontics. At the heart of this is his personal ability to be self-critical and a commitment to life-long learning. Consultations with Akil are booked for 45 minutes at a cost of £125 (which is payable at the time of booking) including radiographs and a written report. Akil will send a copy of the written report to both the patient and the referring General Dental Practitioner (GDP) and keep you both updated on the patient's progress. Arwa Al-Khaburi

Arwa is our periodontics specialist at Epsom Dental Care. When she is not at our practice, she teaches Periodontology to undergraduate students at Guys Hospital. She frequently attends national and international clinical meetings and conferences so the treatments she provides are informed by the latest technological and clinical advances in her field. Arwa provides a comprehensive range of non-surgical and surgical periodontal treatments including open flap debridement, pocket reduction surgery, periodontal regeneration, crown lengthening and mucogingival periodontal plastic surgery. Other treatment includes the provision of implants and management of peri-implantitis.

Dr Rashmi Adikaram

Rashmi graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2011 and has been working in general practice since. Whilst she is the newest member to join Epsom Dental Care in February 2022, she is passionate about providing quality general dental care to her patients. In 2015, Rashmi obtained further post-graduate qualifications, gaining membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Glasgow. To enhance her skills, Rashmi recently completed a yearlong course in aesthetic and restorative dentistry with the Aspire Dental Academy. Whilst she enjoys all aspects of dentistry and helping others, Rashmi finds treating children and anxious patients particularly rewarding, ensuring patients are at ease during treatment. Outside of work, family and friends are everything to Rashmi and she loves spending time with her young family. She loves going for walks if the weather permits, likes to try new places to eat, enjoys travelling and reading.

Dr Wisam Sarsam

Dr Wisam Sarsam is a specialist endodontist registered on the General Dental Council specialist list who is able to accept all types of root canal cases, from simple to complex. He is the dentist other dentists refer to where a higher degree of expertise is sought, when the root canal of the tooth is infected. Graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2011, after working a number of years in general practice he went on, in 2015 to pursue his interest in endodontics. Since then, he has worked as a Registrar and a Clinical Lecturer in endodontics at Liverpool Dental Hospital. He also enjoys the management of anxious patients and is able to provide root canal treatment under sedation. When your tooth has an infection, which may manifest as pain or swelling, you will always be offered and explained the benefits of having a root canal treatment with our specialist endodontist Dr Wisam Sarsam. Your normal dentist will then undergo the final restoration of the tooth, once the root canal is completed. Currently, Wisam provides endodontics in and around London and is undertaking a Doctorate degree investigating the molecular mechanisms linking diabetes to endodontic infection.

Frances Chandrasena

Frances is passionate about dentistry and keeps up to date with the latest techniques enabling her to provide the best possible care for her patients. She has a particular interest in aesthetic dentistry, having completed courses in Cosmetic dentistry and Advanced Restorative dentistry. Frances continues to further enhance her dental skills through her commitment to attending postgraduate dental courses. Above all, she takes pride in being able to put nervous patients at ease with her gentle and friendly manner. Outside of dentistry, Frances is kept busy with her two young boys and enjoys travelling, exploring the Surrey countryside and reading.

Hinal Patel

Hinal has been at the practice for 10 years and is meeting new people all the time. Being a dentist is more than treating patients for Hinal, it's about making a difference to someone's lifestyle and wellbeing. In his own practice, Hinal focuses on building a family-friendly atmosphere. He sometimes treats all the generations of a family and gets to know them, building relations that keep his patients at ease. When he's not at our practice, Hinal is lowering his handicap at the golf course or (when the weather permits) keeping fit at the gym. Melanie Jenkins

Melanie really believes that talking to patients is essential to providing the best care. Having an open dialogue between patient and dentist allows her to give the best treatment possible, and it makes the practice a more friendly environment. Melanie has been at our practice for 15 years and used to be a dental trainer. Family is everything to Melanie and she loves spending time with her young children. When the weather permits, she likes to play golf, but she also likes unwinding with a good book. Qualifications and notable achievements

Neetu Singh

I am an overseas dentist, currently enjoying my work as a dental hygienist and therapist. I love to educate and bring more awareness for gum disease to my patients. In my free time I like doing yoga, reading and playing basketball with my son.

Nicky Peterson

Nicky qualified as a Dental Hygienist from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa in 1987. She worked in general practice for a few years and moved to a specialist periodontal practice in Cape Town where she worked for 25 years. She is passionate about oral health and education. Nicky relocated to the UK and commenced work at Epsom Dental Care in 2022. Nicky is a mother of two young adults. She enjoys walking, exploring the UK, cooking and entertaining friends over weekends.

Sanya Aslam

Sanya graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2016 and also carried out her foundation training in London. Since then, she has worked in the Royal London Dental Hospital across the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental departments when she had the opportunity to work with a variety of patients within the oral surgery, oral medicine and the special care departments. She enjoys working with anxious patients and putting patients at ease. In her spare time, she enjoys playing badminton and going for walks.
