Gavin Coyle Studio is a contemporary craft workshop based in Walthamstow, East London. Working predominantly in timber our work explores the interaction between traditional skills and modern techniques. We strive to create products which have a rich narrative, expressed through unpretentious forms providing a quiet, enduring presence in the home... Our ethos is very much less is more, with products designed to be enduring in both their design and choice of materials. We aim to design products which are the antithesis of throwaway, using materials which are beautiful and long-lasting... Much of our work is bespoke commissions for manufacturers, retailers, architects and private individuals. From early discussions, briefing and sketches, defining materials and appropriate craft, to design, make and installation, we have a wholly collaborative and holistic approach to each project.
