Alan Watt is a Solicitor and Notary Public.
Alan founded Watt Law in 2011 and operated as a sole practitioner from The Centre in Cumbernauld before joining forces with Inksters in 2023.
He is a very experienced litigator dealing with both civil and criminal cases. This includes Family Law, Divorce Law, Children's Hearings, Custody matters, Criminal Law and Employment Law.
Alan has vast experience in Aviation claims being the sole Scottish agent for a well-known budget airline. Alan regularly defends aviation claims.
Alan is also an Accredited Civil / Commercial Mediator and believes that mediation in certain situations can offer the best platform to resolve conflict.
Alan continues to operate out of his office in The Centre, Cumbernauld and is available for meetings at Inksters' HQ in Glasgow.
Alastair MacDonald is a solicitor and notary public. He joined Inksters in 2022 and is based in the Glasgow office.
Before joining Inksters, Alastair worked for Low Beaton Richmond in Glasgow for about four and a half years. He qualified as a solicitor in 2018, having undertaken his traineeship with Leslie Wolfson & Co, also based in Glasgow city centre. He obtained his Diploma in Professional Legal Practice and LLB from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and prior to studying law he obtained an MSc in Environmental Health from the same university and a BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. Alastair has lived in Glasgow since 2007 and grew up in the Highlands.
Alastair specialises in residential conveyancing and has experience of dealing with sales, purchases (including auction and new build purchases), remortgages, transfers of title and discharges of standard securities. Having practised as a solicitor in Glasgow, he has particular experience of properties located there and in the surrounding areas, but he has also dealt with properties in Ayrshire and on the Isle of Cumbrae (as his previous firm had a small second office in Largs), on Arran, and further afield, such as Edinburgh, Perthshire and the Highlands. Alastair can act in transactions involving property located anywhere in Scotland and for clients who are based anywhere in the UK.
Charlotte Platt is a Solicitor and Notary Public.
Charlotte studied for her Law Degree at Glasgow Caledonian University and completed her Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow.
Brought up on the Orkney Islands she undertook her traineeship with a rural firm, having returned to Orkney each summer to gain work experience with them before joining as trainee in summer 2012. Moving to Thurso early in her traineeship she has been Caithness based since 2012, with her main focus being conveyancing and private client work.
Outside of work Charlotte is involved with the creative community in Caithness and is an affiliate member of the Horror Writers Association. She has also assisted with the Orkney International Science Festival and local charity events.

David is a very highly respected and well known Solicitor and Notary Public.
David has a wealth of experience as a commercial lawyer and specialises in all aspects of non-contentious intellectual property law, with a particular emphasis on computer-related contracts and issues. He advises on data protection matters and all types of commercial contracts, particularly those with an international element or requiring cross-disciplinary expertise. David has experience in domestic, American and European courts. He has also specialised in corporate insolvency for over 35 years.
David is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association, a fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals, Chairman of the Glasgow Airport Consultative Committee, Director of Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the American Bar Association International Business Law IP Sub-Committee and Chair of the American Bar Association Cyberspace Committee Non-US Cyberlaw Committee.
David lectures extensively in the UK and internationally. He is author of the Stair Encyclopaedia section on European competition law, as well as multiple books and articles on intellectual property law, cyber law and insolvency law.
David has given evidence to the House of Lords Select Committee on European Affairs in relation to competition procedures, in relation to the European Court of First Instance and in relation to European Community Competition Practice.
David spent 40 years at MacRoberts (latterly as senior partner) before joining Inksters as a Commercial Law Consultant in May 2019.
Diane was promoted to the role of COO in January 2024 after several years as a Legal Process Engineer with Inksters.
Diane was a representative on the Government's Digital Strategy Project where she was responsible for working with the Scottish Prison Services in setting up facilities allowing solicitors to speak to clients in prison via VC links from laptops or tablets.
Fiona has been with Inksters since the firm was founded in May 1999 and is now the cashroom manager.
