INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY

GIRI MADHAVAN (MBBS MSc(Epidemiology), MBiochem(Oxon), MRCPsych) is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Intellectual Disabilities based in West Midlands, UK. He is Clinical Lead for Digital Transformation in his Trust. He is particularly interested in research and application of digital advances across disciplines for the benefit of people with intellectual disabilities and those supporting them. He is a founding member and executive committee member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Digital Special Interest group and former President of the Oxford University Scientific Society... An understanding of the nature of intellectual disability is essential for health care professionals, who are required to support equal access to their services for all disabled people.
