Charlie Watkins

Charlie thoroughly enjoys her role as a BBO keyworker at the Kindle Centre. Charlie has a background is Social Care & Fitness, loves people and enjoys helping others to be the best version of themselves in a variety of different ways. Most importantly, as a compassionate and caring individual, she strives to get people in their happiest place :). Charlie is a mum to three energetic children in both primary and secondary school, so is well aware of how difficult it can be to juggle finances, manage a home, co-ordinate school activities and try to get by as a working parent. Life can be a challenge and if Charlie can assist someone to take just one step closer to an easier time, then she will.

Claire Williams

Elaine Walton

Elaine is a fully qualified accountant with over 16 years experience working in practice and industry. She enjoys being involved in the local community and her favourite hobby is out walking in the countryside with her dog. She enjoys travel and learning about different cultures. The most exotic place she has visited is Borneo where her younger brother lives.

Franca Lane

Franca has recently moved to Hereford from London where she worked as a mental health practioner both for the NHS and charities. She is very passionate and committed to promoting shared knowledge and awareness of well-being within the community to alleviate depression, social exclusion and the myriad of body - mind issues. Franca is highly aware of the challenges we all face in this current social and economic climate and would like to continue to get more involved and participate with the South Wye community work in the area. In the past she has been part of creating rewarding partnerships between the public and private sectors working within the local communities. She is particularly interested in how the individual can be empowered to become mentally, physically and spiritually more resilient. She also has an insight into the management of depression, anxiety and psychosomatic issues through meditation and mind/body practices. She is involved in mindfulness in education including having worked for Oxford University during 2017 and 2018. Since arriving in Hereford Franca has been following the Women's Equality Group, the Happier, Healthier Herefordshire meetings and the Green Networks activities. She is a people's person who enjoys conversation, walks, independent cinema and retreats. She is very honoured at becoming a trustee at the Kindle Centre, South Wye Development Trust.

Ivan Powell

  • Independent Chair of Herefordshire 's Adult Safeguarding Board
Ivan retired in 2014 as Policing Commander for West Mercia Police, Herefordshire Division, after 32 years' service. During this time he has worked with many current members of the Trust over a number of years. Ivan is currently the independent chair of Herefordshire's Adult Safeguarding Board. Ivan grew up in Herefordshire and still remains a resident; he is married with 3 children. Ivan is a school governor at a local primary school and chairman of Hereford Rugby Club.

June Griffiths

June has lived in Hunderton, Hereford all of her life. She raised 3 children whilst working full time. Now retired, June is the advocate for the Community and works tirelessly supporting the elderly and vulnerable members of the community.

Karen Cunningham Kennett

Job Titles:

Karen worked in retail for 28 years before coming to The Kindle Centre as Services Administrator. Her duties involve taking and arranging bookings for the hall and the 6 meeting rooms and helping with the day to day running of the centre.

Kevin Tillett

Job Titles:

Kevin was a science teacher and has also worked as an actor, singer, presenter and trainer. He is a trustee of RSPCA Herefordshire, lives in Hunderton and can often seen walking his dogs.

Mandy Evans

Mandy became SWDT chief officer in October 2018, after working in the South Wye for over 10 years supporting the community and is a well known familiar face to locals. Mandy has worked in housing and regeneration for over 25 years. When not working Mandy is a part time fitness instructor, loves running and spending time with here children who play competitive football.

Natalya Kolesnykova

BBO Key Worker For The Kindle Centre Natalya was born in Ukraine. As soon as she graduated from Kharkiv University with a degree in Engineer-Technologist in the Food Industry in 2001, she came to live in the UK. At first, Natalya studied at St Giles Brighton College in a language course in English. In the same year she moved to Hereford and has been living here for 21 years. Natalya is married and has a daughter, who was born and studied in Hereford. Natalya has also worked as a supervisor and Quality Control Manager for F & M Greens and volunteered for Red Cross.

Nick Small

Nick was born in Hereford and has lived here most of his life. He now lives in Lower Bullingham (South Wye) with his young family, and runs a business from Rotherwas, so he is deeply passionate about contributing to the local community. Nick has always been incredibly impressed with the vital work that the South Wye Development Trust do within the community and the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the on-going need to help those who could be struggling for a variety of reasons. Nick's company was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to help with the 2020 Christmas hampers for the South Wye Development Trust and seeing the impact these had on the community inspired him to want to contribute more of his time and energy into helping the community Nick is thrilled to be a Trustee and grateful for the opportunity to give more back to the community.

Pat Gordon

Pat came to the county from North Shropshire to teach at Holme Lacy College in 1983. Pat left the College in 2008 after developing the Learning Support and Foundation Departments. She also started her garden building ‘career' as a founder member of Herefordshire Growing Point in 1990. Since leaving Holme Lacy she founded Growing Local is Going Local CIC, a small community interest company dedicated to bringing the local community closer to ‘real food', ‘growing your own' and ‘cooking from scratch'. Pat is particularly interested in improving health and well being through cooking and gardening, and is very pleased the ‘Big Eats', which Growing Local organises have become so popular at the Kindle Centre. Pat has lived in Whitecross for most of her 35 years in the County, raising a vibrant family of four, who regularly return and help with Pat's various projects. Pat loves Herefordshire to bits, the landscape and the people. She loves walking, camping, and of course gardening and cooking.

Paul Rone

Paul Rone is a county councillor and lives in his Redhill Ward which he has represented since 2011. He describes himself as a ‘hands on' councillor and is involved in many aspects of community improvement throughout the South Wye area. When not involved in council and community issues, he can be seen driving his black taxi as he plies his trade as a cabbie.

Penny Southwood

Penny has a track record in taking concept to completion bringing wider business leadership skills to support business growth and development at strategic level. Motivated and skilled at engaging with stakeholders across all sectors to identify opportunities and change required to increase existing business or access new markets and income streams. Penny has experience in both commercial and charity sectors.

Susannah Jones

Susannah is a Key Worker with the BBO Herefordshire project at The Kindle Centre, focussed on working with those furthest from the job market to overcome barriers and help people achieve their aspirations. Susannah loves the variety of her job and enjoys meeting people and listening to their unique stories. Susannah has been an active volunteer since being a teenager, including supporting children with disabilities to learn to swim, in-school reading support, hot food distribution to homeless families and supporting families via children's Centre Services and is now a Trustee of three local charities. Susannah has over 20 years' experience in manufacturing, sales and marketing roles and has been lucky enough to travel around the world with her previous jobs.

Suzanne Evans

Centre Support Staff For The Kindle Centre Suzanne worked at the Hereford Magistrates' Court before coming to The Kindle Centre and Centre Support Staff. Her duties involve preparing the centre for business, responding to the bookings and helping with the day to day running of the Centre. When not working, Suzanne likes travelling, cooking, decorating her family home and spending time with her family.

Victoria Young

Centre Support Staff For The Kindle Centre Victoria worked at an estate agents and at a large retailer before coming to The Kindle Centre as Centre Support Staff. Her duties involve preparing the centre for business, responding to the bookings and helping with the day to day running of the centre. When not at work, Victoria is busy looking after her horses, helping out at St. Michaels shop and loves spending time with her family.
