Hey there! My name is Margarita and I am the School Rep Assistant for the School of Human Sciences and the Guildhall School of Business and Law. I work with the Student Voice team to coordinate the student rep scheme and support our students by rasing their issues to make sure that they have the best of their time while at LondonMet. As CEO of the Students' Union, I have ultimate responsibility for the operations of the Students' Union and the delivery of the goals of our strategy. I work closely with our elected officers to ensure the Union works to support their goals, and closely with the university to maintain a strong partnership between our organisations. I also make a lovely paella!

I assist the Finance Manager with collecting, processing, and presenting financial information to all departments in London Met SU. I also supervise the Union reception team and assist with providing operational support to the SU.

I am responsible for leading and developing all of our student-focused services including Advocacy, Advice, Campaigns, Democracy, Governance, Representation, Student Activities and Volunteering. I also support our elected officers and student representatives and work with the CEO and Trustees to ensure the Union is run effectively and achieves its strategic goals.

I manage the Communications, Marketing and Events Team and make sure that LMSU communicates effectively with you, our students! My day-to-day involves working on the website, running our social media channels, and curating our monthly email newsletter; alongside working with external partners and university colleagues to ensure we have the right priorities.

I am responsible for the financial management and the day to day operation of the Students' Union, ensuring that the SU is financially sustainable through the development and application of robust systems. I work as a business partner to budget holders and also ensure that there is an effective accessible reception function and robust administrative support to help the staff and Officer team of the Students' Union to be able to deliver their work and ultimately our strategy with ease and confidence.

Simon has worked in students' unions for over twenty years. He currently leads on policy, governance, insight and developing a network of over 2000 student leaders at Students' Union UCL. Simon is also the company secretary for Students' Union UCL.
Simon joined our Board in April 2019 initially for a two year term and has recently been renewed for four years. He was elected as Chair of the Board from October 2019 and leads the Board to support the officer team and staff to ensure we deliver on our mission and transform the lives of London Met students.
Simon is an alumnus of London Guildhall University (a predecessor institution of London Met), he was part of the student officer team that oversaw the merger of the two students' unions when London Met was formed in 2002. He was responsible for the launch of London MetSU (as it was known then).
Simon had previously founded the national practitioners' network for workers in democracy and representation and contributed towards the development of the first national student engagement toolkit. Simon has recently been appointed as a strategic advisor to Advance HE specialising on student engagement in learning and teaching.
