Barry Grundy

Barry studied at Trinity College Dublin and Dublin Dental Hospital, and qualified with honours in 1980. After a postgraduate course at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he decided to pursue a career in general dental practice. He has been at Lynwood Dental since 1982. He is extremely enthusiastic about dentistry - during his time here he has attended numerous postgraduate courses both in the UK and abroad. He is also a member of the UK's most respected and regarded dental study group. His dental interests are wide although he particularly enjoys the challenges of the restorative and preventive fields. His knowledge, skill and dedication is reflected in the loyalty of many of his patients, many of whom he has attended for over 25 years. He has been placing implant based restorations for over 15 years and has some considerable experience in this field. Barry is a member of ADI (Association Dental Implants) and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. Barry is married and has two sons at university. In his spare time he enjoys sports particularly golf and is a past captain of his golf club. Qualifications MA BDentSc (Dublin)

Gill Geary

Gill has been a valued member of the practice for over 30 years. You will find her working alongside Barry. She has a tremendous passion for assisting the dentist, providing excellent patient service and ensuring the highest level of infection control and sterilisation. Gill prides herself in providing first class dental care and holds to this with exacting standards. Her friendly and gentle approach leaves her extremely popular with all our patients, especially nervous patients and children. Gill also covers on reception, dealing with appointments, payments and patient enquiries. Gill has a natural gift of communication and with her knowledge of dentistry is able to respond to the needs of patients outside of the surgery. In her spare time, Gill enjoys spending time with her family, horse riding, going to the gym and swimming.

Julie Beasley

Julie is our friendly face on reception, she is your first point of contact and is always happy to welcome patients and help with enquiries. She has been at the practice for more than 20 years. Julie is an invaluable member of the team and is responsible for the day to day running of the practice and ensuring everything runs smoothly. She is always on hand to help with any queries or concerns you may have. She is extremely popular and loved by both colleagues and patients alike. When not on the desk, Julie enjoys spending quality time with her family especially her two young grandsons.

Lisa Doherty

Job Titles:

Lisa is responsible for the practice administration. She continually helps with the updating of important human resource documents and practice policies. She is involved in managing and maintaining the CQC compliance aspects of the practice such as Information Governance, Data Protection, Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults, Disability Regulation, Health and Safety, Fire Management and Legal and Ethical Issues. When not at work Lisa enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.

Meena Gurung

Meena has worked as a dental nurse for over 14 years. She has always been interested in nursing and thoroughly enjoys working with Scott on implants and cosmetic treatments. She looks forward to a new challenge at work every day. It is particularly important for Meena to help patients who are nervous and have dental phobias to get through their treatment peacefully. Meena says the best part about her job is watching people leave with a smile on their face. She is a valued member of the practice. Meena loves to cook, travel and spend time with her family.

Scott Simpson

Scott studied dentistry at Guy's Hospital Dental School in London and qualified in July 1996. The next two years, he spent advancing his surgical skills in the oral and maxillofacial departments at Guy's Hospital London and St Richards Hospital Chichester. He also spent time working in the department of conscious sedation and special care dentistry at Guy's Hospital. After deciding to pursue his career in general dental practice he underwent a period of vocational training where he won the Paul Temple-Smithson Prize for the best clinical case presentation in the South East. Scott has been practicing at Lynwood Dental since 2002 and was made a partner in 2006. He enjoys all aspects of restorative and surgical dentistry and it is plain to see he truly loves his work. Scott's dedication to providing cutting edge dentistry is underpinned by his continuing development. He is competent in using Cad-Cam dental technology and has placed hundreds of Cerec all porcelain restorations. Scott placed his first implant supported restoration in 1996 and he has since gained vast experience and knowledge in this field. Scott was awarded the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from The Eastman Dental Institute (part of University College London) in 2011 after passing with distinction. Lynwood Dental & Implant Centre is now taking referrals for this type of treatment from other dental practices in the area. Scott is a member of ADI (Association Dental Implants) and the SAAD (Society for Advance Anaesthetic in Dentistry). Scott is married to Siobhan, a hygienist who also works at the practice from time to time. They have two daughters Madeleine and Felicity. Theresa Salter

Job Titles:

Theresa is another long serving member of staff having been with the practice for over 23 years. She is committed to providing excellent customer service. Theresa nurses and covers reception when necessary. Additional duties may include helping the dentist record information about the patient's health, processing radiographs and stock control. She is adaptable, flexible and reassuring, being able to work as part of a friendly team. Her hard working, conscientious nature is well received by staff and patients. In her spare time, Theresa loves to spend time with her family.

William Andrews

Job Titles:

Will graduated with honours from Kings College London, undertaking training at the world-renowned Guys hospital where he was awarded the Tom Pitt-Ford prize in Endodontics. Following on from this, he gained his postgraduate certificate in primary dental care and has been working as a general Dentist in Sussex before relocating to Lynwood Dental. Will is very gentle and likes to take time getting to know his patients, to fully understand their dental needs and worries. He focuses on preventative and minimally-invasive dentistry and is particularly keen on non-invasive cosmetic techniques. He is also an Invisalign provider, helping to straighten and whiten teeth through a simple sequence of clear aligners. Will is currently attending the prestigious Aspire Dental Academy to complete a Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics. Will recently moved to Banstead with his wife.
