MINCHER-LOCKETT - Key Persons

Jan qualified as an optometrist, the modern term for ophthalmic optician, in 1989 after completing a degree in optometry from Aston University in Birmingham. After some years working in both Independent and High Street Optical practice, she joined Mincher-Lockett as a partner in July 2006 and is a member of the British College of Optometrists. Jan works in both Mincher-Lockett practices and also at our sister practice Malcolm Gray and Associates in Eccleshall. She is the clinical lead optometrist and conducts eye examinations and contact lens consultations at all three practices. She is happy to advise people on how they can look after their eyes for the future. She is qualified to deliver Minor Eye Conditions Service, Glaucoma Referral Refinement and Post-operative Cataract Assessment. She also has a special interest in visual stress and reading difficulties and has a diploma in School Vision from SVUK. As well as keeping abreast of new developments in eyecare, Jan enjoys keeping fit, cooking, walking, reading and travel.
