I am particularly interested in the changing light, and constant change in the landscape and I look for structures within my drawings to reflect this. The landscape of Northumberland is so rich and varied I rarely feel the need to move to other parts for inspiration but Scotland and Burgundy have both featured in the past. Recently working on the the Holy Island causeway, the long vists have given rise to thinking about considering the element of time in my work and this, in conjunction with an interest in music, has led to a series of abstract works operating as sequences.
