Dennis Hartley

Dennis is one of the newer recruits to the station and has had over ten years experience with Hospital Radio before joining Radio Medica. He is a presenter of weekend programmes including news features and horoscopes and has featured decades across fifty years of music. Dennis is a sales executive ,travelling the north of England and Scotland, and his favourite decade is the 60s playing Cliff, Elvis and The Beatles.

Julian Watson

Job Titles:
  • Engineer
Julian started at Radio Medica when he was 16 and was given an evening show to present with a colleague. He moved from the old St John's Hospital to the new hospital where he helped build the studio. Julian is now the station engineer, concentrating on the second studio and developing more hi-tech systems for the time the station gets its full time AM broadcasting licence.

Ken Shires - Chairman

Twenty years ago Ken's wife joined Radio Medica and not long after he followed her. I worked through most roles in the organisation culminating with being Chairman and a presenter. His main job these days is encouraging the rest of the members as they are the driving force of the future, that will carry Radio Medica forward.

Paul Stellings

Job Titles:
  • Station Manager
As well as researching, presenting and producing his Saturday rock and information based show Saturday Flight, Paul looks after general day-to-day station issues such as programming the computer with new music, programme scheduling and working with Julian the engineer to improve the stations' facilities and applying for grants. He joined Radio Medica after a trial and was given his own Saturday show which he still presents today. After becoming established with the team he was appointed Station Manager with a brief spell as Chairman.
