The Shanghai Rosewood Furniture Co. is a private family owned co-operative situated in the Shanghai province. Our family has been involved in Rosewood furniture manufacturing for over 180 years. Originally from the north of China, the family moved to Shanghai to find work and the business has progressed since that time. We are all members of the Forest Management Committee, one of only 5 co-operatives in China currently with this status. All the material that we use is environmentally friendly and all the wood products come from sustainable forests strictly managed by local authorities... Seventy percent of our furniture designs are original from our own craftsmen. One of our most recognised is that of a throne which was made for a Brunei Prince.
