Dan Mason is responsible for the strategic direction of Behaviour and Attitudes at Ormiston SWB Academy. Dan graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Studies. Since being a senior leader in 2013, Dan has become a qualified SENDCO and Access Arrangements Assessor who has a keen interest in SEND and Disadvantaged pupils. He is currently completing his National Professional Qualification for Headship. Outside of school, Dan is a husband, father of two and keen athlete who enjoys completing endurance events across Europe.

Mr J Crawley

James Crawley is responsible for data, assessment and outcomes at Ormiston SWB Academy. James graduated with a 2:1 in Geography and Sociology (BA) from the University of Leeds. James then completed his PGDIPED teaching course at the University of Birmingham and obtained his Masters degree in Education through Newman University. James joined Ormiston SWB Academy in January 2019 having previously taught in Birmingham. James is a teacher of humanities and enjoys teaching human geography, particularly how people are impacting upon the world and how this can be better managed. Outside of school James is a keen traveller, reader and sportsman.

Mrs D Hughes

Donna Hughes is responsible for leading KS4. Donna graduated with BA(Hons) Drama from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Originally from the North- East, Donna moved to the West Midlands upon graduation and has taught English at South Wolverhampton and Bilston Academy since its inception. As well as responsibility for leading on KS4, Donna also oversees the Academy CORE curriculum which incorporates aspects of PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education, RSE (Relationship and Sex Education) and FBV (Fundamental British Values). Moreover, for 2021-2022 Donna also is responsible for parental engagement. Outside of the academy, Donna is an animal rights advocate and spends her time volunteering at a local animal shelter. In her social time, Donna is also an avid reader and enjoys the theatre. Donna fully believes that the student centric curriculum and culture that is at the heart of the academy vision will not only help to educate, but empower all SWB students to lead, happy, enriched and rewarding lives.

Mrs J Bayley

Jane Bayley is responsible for SWB6th, the sixth form here at Ormiston SWB Academy. Jane graduated with a 2:1 in French and German (BA Hons) from the University of Wolverhampton. Jane then continued to Keele University to complete her PGCE in French and German. Languages are Jane's passion, particularly the way they inspire others to see the world in a different way and support diversity. Jane has previously taught in schools across the country and has completed her NPQSL and is also a SLE for middle leadership and MFL with the ConnectEd Partnership. She also enjoys coaching others to achieve their potential, through the coaching training she has received being an SLE. Outside of work, Jane enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and travelling.

Mrs L Goodall

Laura Goodall is responsible for leading KS3. Laura graduated with BA(Hons) Physical Education with QTS from Leeds Metroplitan University in 2004. She has moved to the West Midlands from Yorkshire and has taught at OSWBA since 2014. Laura also oversees the Y6 to 7 Transition process for all pupils as well as incoming and outgoing admissions at the Academy.

Simon King

Simon King is responsible for Curriculum design, options and external examinations Simon joined the academy in 2017. He graduated from Bristol University before completing his PGCE at Kings College, London. He started his teaching career in London and Kent as a Science teacher and then Head of department before relocating to the West Midlands and taking up a senior leadership position in Birmingham where he set up and ran a sixth form. He has been a senior leader since 2012 and has completed a number of outreach placements across the West Midlands as part of a previous role in school improvement. Simon now oversees the options process and the overall design of the curriculum. Outside of the academy, Simon is a husband and father who enjoys hiking, travel and following the contrasting fortunes of Charlton Athletic and the England Cricket team.
