SVC - Key Persons
Hi, my name is Adrienne, but most people call me Ad.
I have had the privilege of managing SVC for the past 13 years. My main roles are ensuring the SVC staff are supported in their roles, working closely with the SVC Board of Trustees and ensuring the office effectively follows SVC's objectives and vision. I also liaise with our funders, manage the accounts and seek new funding grants which suit the charity's criteria and projects.
The Project Coordinators do a fantastic job as the main support for our dedicated Lead Volunteers and Volunteers, however if they're ever busy and you need some advice or support then please feel free to contact me.

Hi, I'm Charlotte and I'm the Health and Social Care Project Co-ordinator for SVC. I am a Psychology graduate living in Cardiff, and I am passionate about volunteering and making a difference to people's lives.
Before this role, I previously volunteered with a number of charities including NYAS, Headway and Cardiff Women's Aid. Through these roles I have seen the positive impact that volunteering has on the lives of beneficiaries.

Hello! My name is Dan and I am SVC's EDI (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) Officer.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion shouldn't just be buzzwords in policy and papers - I believe SVC should be a place where everyone is able to learn, thrive and contribute to volunteering projects they are passionate about.
Outside of work, I have volunteered and created projects all around the globe and I am motivated to make global opportunities and intercultural exchange more accessible and equitable.

Gavin became a trustee at Student Volunteering Cardiff in May 2017.
Gavin is Foundation Director at Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, the official charity of Cardiff City FC. The Foundation works with children, young people and families in South Wales to address inequalities and help people achieve their full potential. He is also a member of the English Football League Trust Advisory Board, providing advice and guidance to a national charity which unites the work delivered across England & Wales by the network of community trusts and foundations with links to 72 professional football clubs.
A graduate of Cardiff Metropolitan University, Gavin has 15 years' experience in community sport development and major sports events including spells with Cardiff Council, Cricket Wales, and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games.
Gavin values the contribution volunteers make to local communities and understands how volunteering can develop skills and enhance career prospects. He is passionate about ensuring children, young people and vulnerable adults have the opportunity to be the best they can be.
Hi, my name is Grace and I am the Digital Trustee at SVC! My main role is to support our services, events, and activities online and help to enhance our long-term digital accessibility alongside our team of fantastic trustees and staff.

Hi, my name is Hassan Ahmed currently sit on the board as a communications officer. I am a dedicated and results-oriented professional with a passion for making a difference with a strong background in Administration and Management. I have previously had the privilege of serving as a lead volunteer in the NHS with SVC which gave me insight and more knowledge of the amazing work done by SVC. I bring knowledge and experience to our charity. I have a creative and strategic mindset alongside a friendly demeanor which I put to use in promoting our cause and engaging with our community. My name's Henry and I am a general trustee for SVC this year. As well as this, I sit on the board of Trustees for Innovate Trust - SVC's sister Charity. I have recently qualified as a Dentist from Cardiff University.

I'm Huw and this is my first year on the board of trustees as an Events and Fundraising Officer. I've been volunteering with SVC since mid 2020, firstly through the digital befriending project, then Going Green Together and I've also been on the Environmental committee since 2022.
Karen Harvey-Cooke has been involved with Student Volunteering Cardiff for almost 20 years. She is an Organisational and Staff Development Manager within HR at Cardiff University and is Chair of the University Staff LGBT+ Network, Enfys (Welsh for rainbow).
In HR Karen has a cross university role in supporting organisational change and manages a team that are responsible for employee engagement and equality, diversity and inclusion. During her time as Chair of Enfys, Cardiff University has featured in the Stonewall Top 100 Employers for 5 consecutive years as the top University. Enfys have been named as the Employee Network Group of the year in 2020 by Stonewall and Stonewall Cymru. Outside of work, Karen can most often be found travelling with her wife Mandy and being told what to do by their cat Hedwig.

I'm Kelly and this is my third year with SVC. I have been the lead volunteer of the Young Carers Club since September 2018 and this is my second year in the Events & Fundraising role on the board of trustees.
Hi Everyone, I'm Kieran and I'm the Secretary for SVC. My role is to support the board by helping formulate agenda, plan meetings and keep accurate records for the charity.
Hi, I'm Lucy. I joined the board, firstly as an advisor and then as an Associate Trustee, in August 2020. I work for the Careers department at University of South Wales, helping students to gain experience whilst they are studying. The variety of opportunities available via SVC is huge and as I worked more and more with their lovely team, I was asked to join the board. I haven't looked back! To play just a small part in the projects and values of SVC is great. When I hear back from students who have volunteered with SVC, their experiences really show that they have given a little, to gain a lot. As well as doing something for their community, they are also learning valuable skills to take forward into their graduate careers.

Hello, my name is Mia and I am the Mental Health and Community Project Coordinator for SVC!
I have recently graduated from Cardiff University where I studied Psychology and completed a professional placement year with the NHS. During my time at university, I developed an interest in the field of psychology and its applications in promoting mental health and wellbeing. During my final year at university, I had the privilege of being a Lead Volunteer on the NHS placement scheme, where I witnessed first-hand the amazing benefits of volunteer work in mental health settings. I am excited to be coordinating this project as part of my new role and I am looking forward to getting involved in other projects in partnership with the Huggard Homeless Centre.

Hi, my name is Rhian and I am the Communications and Marketing Trustee at SVC. My main role is producing content for our website, social media platforms and networking with various organisations. I love creating educational and awareness-raising resources that support our community and encourage equality, diversity and inclusivity.
Shwmae! I'm Rhian and I joined SVC as an Associate Trustee in September 2019. My background is in Higher Education; I have over 20 years' experience of universities, having worked at Aberystwyth, Oxford, Oxford Brookes, and Worcester College (Oxford) before moving home to Wales in 2016. I was a Business Partner in Student Futures (formerly Careers & Employability) at Cardiff University for five years before becoming the HR Manager Recruitment and Global Mobility, still at the University. I work on general recruitment, with a strong EDI elements, and am an elected member of the University's Court. I become a Trustee so that I could be part of delivering the amazing projects SVC runs. The opportunities this charity offers are life-changing for both beneficiaries and volunteers, and I am privileged to play a small part. Get involved - you won't regret it.
