VITU1 was the first collaboration between promoting collective, Pedestrian, and Mindpaw/I Am The Mighty Jungulator. Tom Betts (Pedestrian) and Nathan Hughes (IATMJ) formed a producer/director partnership, merging experience, ideas and strategies. TB's broad knowledge of promotion and contemporary electronic music gained through running his own Pause_2 label, was combined with NH's experience as an artist/producer working in digital moving image and live audio-visual performance. TB's experience of (indoor and outdoor) event co-ordination provided focus and structure for NH to develop a conceptual multimedia work; informed by cinema and myth, which fused innovative digital performance with 'elemental' traditions of animating landscape through physical ritual.
