Cargo vessels are accommodated on our Commercial Quay. In 2014 two Heavy Lift Pads were installed which enable the port to handle a variety of heavy cargoes and commodities. We have a good cargo trade in coal, lime, timber, road salt, onshore wind-farm components, steel pipe and oil related hardware, and following the recent decision by Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd to site their O & M base in Wick Harbour for the next 25 - 50 years we will see a significant boost to port business and vessel activities... As one of the closest ports to many North Sea installations, Wick can offer shorter travel time with access to skills and resources to handle and process redundant subsea equipment, and associated hazardous waste from these fields. A new deep water berth (9 - 13m) is planned to accommodate this new business alongside traditional support services.
