Her chosen electives on the LPC were Family Law, Employment Law, Advanced Criminal Practice and Commercial Dispute Resolution. During her time at the University of Surrey, Alisha undertook an internship at a criminal defence law firm. She continued to work there as a Paralegal alongside her studies for 3 years and has visited clients in every prison in the London region. She then worked in Commercial Property Development working for big property developers such as Barratt Homes and Berkeley Homes. She has also worked on property transactions worth over a million pounds. Alisha enjoys keeping active and goes to the gym 6 days a week before work and she also enjoys travelling.

Allegra Canessa

Allegra was born in Florence, Italy. She attended three years of Law school in Italy and moved to London in 2014 to improve her English and continue her studies at Kingston University. She graduated from Law School at Kingston University in July 2017. Allegra went on to study her LPC with MSc in Law Business and Management part-time while working full time. She graduated in 2019 with a commendation. Allegra helped set up an Alternative Business Structure (ABS) and then moved to another firm as a paralegal working in their Private Client and Property Department. Allegra trained at Owen White & Catlin in the Property and Private Client departments. She is now an Associate Solicitor covering both the Esher and Addlestone offices dealing with Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney, Estate Administration. Allegra is known for the empathy and professionalism in dealing with clients. Anne Byard

Anne joined the firm in 2000 as a Trainee Solicitor in the Shepperton Branch and qualified in February 2001. In December 2013 she moved to the Addlestone branch as Administrative Partner. She became Head of Conveyancing in 2016 and currently works in the Shepperton branch. Anne enjoys travelling, especially to new countries. Carolyn Nathanson is a specialist family solicitor located in our Feltham office. She offers legal advice and support in relation to all family law issues. Carolyn can help you agree the terms of a cohabitation agreement at the start of a relationship or, if your relationship has broken down, advise on separation, divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership. This includes advising on all aspects of financial disputes. Carolyn also advises on arrangements for children and seeks to ensure that, through a conciliatory approach to all aspects of the separation, both parents can maintain a good relationship with their children for the future. She also undertakes some employment matters advising on settlement agreements. Carolyn is a member of the Law Society, The Association of Women Solicitors and Resolution. Carolyn is the Regional Press Officer for the South West London Resolution group.

Catherine Snowdon

Catherine read Law at the University of Exeter and went on to study at the College of Law, Guildford. She is a Solicitor and is based in our Ashford Office. Catherine specialises in matrimonial and children matters. She advises clients in relation to divorce proceedings and financial issues on separation as well as disputes involving unmarried couples. She also represents parents in applications for financial orders pursuant to Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989 and in obtaining orders to protect clients and their children from domestic abuse. Catherine has extensive experience in both public law care proceedings and private law family disputes involving child arrangement orders and contact. She represents parents, family members and children in difficult and sensitive cases involving domestic violence, mental health difficulties, drug and alcohol abuse and neglect. She has also represented clients in complex cases involving sexual and fabricated sexual abuse, non-accidental injuries (including shaken baby and fracture cases) and interference with medical equipment. Catherine frequently conducts her own advocacy to ensure continuity of representation for clients. She is a member of Resolution, the Association of Lawyers for Children and the Law Society's Children Panel. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys walking, rowing, skiing and theatre trips.

Christine Nwaokolo

Christine is an experienced childcare solicitor-advocate; she also has a broad knowledge in family law including matrimonial proceedings and domestic abuse. Christine is a Children Panel Accredited member and has Civil Higher Rights of Audience. As well as the private sector Christine has worked in the public sector including two Local Authorities where she was a senior lawyer and lead court advocate giving her well rounded knowledge and experience. Claudene has always lived and worked in the South London and South East area. She joined Owen White & Catlin in May 2022. Claudene studied Law at London South bank University where she attained a First Class honours degree. She then went on to achieve a distinction on the Legal Practice Course. Claudene advises clients on all aspects of private family law including divorce, financial and children matters and nuptial agreements. Claudene can assist you with any issue that arises from a relationship breakdown. Claudene appreciates that when a relationship ends it is an emotionally charged time for all the parties involved. Claudene is mindful of the challenges faced by clients and is empathic and sympathetic in her approach. Claudene provides honest and clear advice to clients to help them achieve the best outcome for themselves and their children. Claudene is the honorary treasurer of the Surrey Law Society. Claudene is committed to dealing with matters in a non-confrontational and constructive way and as such now sits on the Surrey Resolution Regional Committee and Resolution's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the dispute resolution committee. James Kiely

James joined Owen White & Catlin in January 2017. He is a Solicitor and is based in our Shepperton office and Esher office. James specialises in matrimonial and children matters as well as disputes involving unmarried couples. His cases often involve complex and/or international elements. After being Called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2005, James cross-qualified as a Solicitor in 2009 and has represented clients in the Family Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. He prides himself on his common sense approach to all legal problems to ensure that the client is fully informed of all issues and the best resolution is reached. He is a member of Resolution and holds a Level 1 Accreditation. In addition, James sits on the Resolution Practice Standards Panel and the Surrey Resolution Committee. James is also a trained Collaborative Lawyer and a member of the Thameside POD. Jane also previously undertook conveyancing work and has dealt with many complex high net worth residential sales and landlord and tenant matters. Jane previously had a career in management and personnel and then trained as a solicitor with Watson Marshal in Hammersmith. She qualified in September 1998. Jane then remained with Watson Marshal for many years after qualifying. She became an Associate at Owen White & Catlin in October 2015 following the incorporation of Watson Marshal by Owen White & Catlin in 2014. Jane was made a Senior Associate at Owen White & Catlin in October 2017. Over the years Jane has acted for different generations of the same families and so has become very familiar with their backgrounds and needs. Jane has dealt with high net worth estates involving charities and individuals and complex inheritance tax calculations. Having visited many care homes in the past and acted as an attorney for various clients, she is very receptive to the needs of the elderly and has a strong sense of patience and empathy. Jeremy Parkinson

After graduating from the University of Durham and subsequently the College of Law in York, Jeremy qualified as a solicitor in 2007 specialising in employment. He joined Owen White & Catlin in 2015 having worked for many years at a large national firm, became an Associate in April 2017, and a Senior Associate in July 2019. With a wealth of experience advising both employers and employees on a wide variety of matters (including contracts of employment, settlement agreements, redundancy and TUPE as well as discrimination and equal pay) Jeremy has a particular interest in conducting complex multi-day litigation in the Employment Tribunal and has also taken cases to the Employment Appeal Tribunal and Court of Appeal. Jeremy is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

John Soper
