Abhika Agarwal

Abhika grew up in India and relocated to the UK in 2011. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in India before moving to the UK, where she gained her ACA qualification. Since joining NLP as an Audit Manager, Abhika has been focussing on supporting clients with her expertise in audit and accounts. She has several years of experience working with a wide range of clients, including groups and owner-managed businesses across a variety of sectors. Prior to joining NLP, Abhika held various key positions in diverse organisations and has also worked in one of the Big 4 in India.

Anthony Pins

Anthony has spent his entire professional career at NLP and is now one of the firm's longest serving members. He joined as a trainee in 1983, qualified in 1987 and subsequently became a Partner in 1994. He now sits on the firm's management team as a senior Partner. He advises a large number of clients in the theatre, film and television industries. His non-executive appointments include being the Chairman of MGCfutures, an educational charity for young people interested in theatre, initiated by The Michael Grandage Company and he is a Board member of UK Jewish Film. Outside the office, Anthony's first love (family excepted) is AFC Bournemouth, for whom his lifelong support has finally started to reap some dividends.

Chris Maitland

Chris joined NLP as a trainee in 1997 and gained his ACA qualification in 2000. He has remained at the Firm since qualifying and has worked his way up through the ranks, most recently becoming a Senior Manager in 2019. Chris is in general practice and works with corporate and individual clients of all sizes across a range of accounting, auditing and tax matters. He is responsible for the VAT affairs of many clients and has experience of dealing with service charge reporting for a variety of property investment companies. He also assists several production companies with their claims for Film Tax Relief. Chris is one of two managers responsible for graduate recruitment in the firm's Audit Department. When not acting as a taxi service for his 3 children, Chris enjoys playing or watching sport and going for walks with the family's golden retriever.

Dave Morrison

Both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor, Dave was a tax manager at two large firms before spending a number of years running his own (MOBO Nominated) DJ, club and concert business. He joined NLP in the late 1990s and his association with the world of entertainment continues, with specific areas of expertise in Creative Industry Tax Credits and EIS share issues. Along with his skills with regards to tax enquiry work, Dave has also represented clients at tax tribunal cases and takes a keen interest in a wide range of technical tax matters. He was chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants' Entertainment and Media Group for several years and regularly presents and writes articles on issues salient to both the entertainment and tax industries. Beyond that, he spends less evenings dancing, now opting to spend his weekends cycling, accomplishing most Audax awards and completing many prestigious British and European rides. He even has a trophy or two at home! He also still proudly holds a season ticket at QPR.

Harry Waterman

Harry joined NLP as a manager in June 2015 and has recently been promoted to partner. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant at a medium sized firm and spent his training career as an auditor as well as working on SME limited company accounts. Since joining NLP, Harry has worked with companies in the creative industries sector, ambitious early-stage businesses, fast-growth companies and high net worth individuals. Harry makes sure a client's business is operating efficiently and his ability to build strong relationships with his clients enables him to deliver this service. In addition to his client work, Harry manages the firm's Business Services Department. In his spare time, Harry enjoys spending time with his family, trying to support Arsenal and playing golf at Dyrham Park Country Club.

Isabella Segal

As well as formidable accountancy experience and skills, Isabella has something different to offer her clients - an incredible life story. Isabella is a general practice partner specialising in accounting, tax planning, business restructuring and recovery and complex tax enquiries. Isabella also heads up the NLP forensic accounting division. In May 2013, with full support of NLP, she transitioned to Isabella. Isabella joined NLP in 2011 after over 30 years of developing her own private practice, advising a wide range of loyal clients. A problem solver who is ready to embrace change, she understands the challenges that life - and running a business - can bring and is uniquely placed to offer advice in particular to the LGBTQIA+ business community. Outside of work she is involved with and supports a number of charities. Other favourite pastimes include reading, cycling, hiking and supporting Arsenal where she is a season ticket holder.

Izabela Suchomska

Izabela graduated with a Masters in Foreign Trade at Poland's Cracow University of Economics in 2007 before joining NLP in 2008. She passed her Association of Taxation Technicians exams and was the winner of the prestigious President's medal awarded by the Association. She is also a Chartered Tax Adviser. She has extensive tax expertise and specialises in private client matters such as UK personal taxation with an emphasis on property tax, residence and domicile, international private client as well as onshore and offshore trusts. She also deals with corporation tax issues delivering bespoke solutions tailored to her corporate clients' needs. She is responsible for managing the tax relationships with some of the firm's most significant clients ranging from Hollywood actors and sports stars to entrepreneurial businesses and established organisations, advising them on their international and complex tax issues. She combines all of this with being a proud mum spending many hours at the side of tennis and netball courts. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, cycling and going for long walks. She relaxes while listening to classical music and is an avid tennis fan.

Jason Parmar

Jason is just an average 30-something gentleman, raised on animation, video games, American sitcoms and the love and support of his family. Since joining NLP in 2011, after graduating with a first class Masters' Degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford, he has worked his way from the humble origins of a trainee to the promised land of a qualified chartered accountant. As a Manager in the audit department acting for clients in a range of sectors and industries, including television production companies and literary agencies, Jason's work is primarily focused on providing audit, accountancy, corporation tax compliance and general consultancy services. Adept in statutory accounting and financial reporting, Jason is also the Manager for a number of entities that have group reporting requirements.

Joel Weitzman

Joel has been with NLP for over 20 years and wears two hats. He is a tax Manager and formerly looked after the day to day running of the tax department. Whilst he has retained his portfolio of tax clients, he also now heads our probate division, The Probate Practice. Joel was amongst the first to be granted a license to practice probate by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales when they were given regulatory authority. He enjoys guiding clients through what can be a tangled web of legislation and administration. His tax experience and pragmatic approach has also seen him be approached by several clients, where we had not previously acted, to help them with HMRC enquiries into Inheritance Tax Returns and other Estate related matters. Out of the office Joel enjoys travel, although the arrival of a baby son in 2018 has meant that family holidays have now replaced seeing the world! He also enjoys most sport and is a keen Tottenham Hotspur supporter.

Laurence Fishman

Laurence joined NLP as a Partner in October 2018. He qualified at BDO Stoy Hayward (now BDO LLP) spending time in both their Audit and Business Restructuring Advisory departments. He has since continued his career at mid-tier firms. He is passionate about working with young and ambitious early-stage businesses, fast-growth companies and dynamic and entrepreneurial SME's, with a focus on those in creative industries and tech. His sector experience and technical expertise enable him to identify financial, strategic and tax planning opportunities for his clients at every stage of the business life cycle. Laurence's entrepreneurial spirit, hands-on approach and ability to forge effective long-lasting working relationships mean that he can quickly get on the wavelength of his clients, delivering practical insights and a client-focused service. He takes the time to understand the ambitions of the people behind the businesses he advises. Away from work, Laurence enjoys music production and song writing, all things tech, travel and is kept busy trying to keep his young children out of trouble! He is also a big Arsenal fan and an overly vocal "Sunday football dad".

Paul Cross - CFO

Paul has been with NLP for 4 years and has nearly 30 years of experience working in the profession, having previously worked at Kidsons, Baker Tilly, Simmons Gainsford, and Lubbock Fine. Paul's role is to be responsible for the finances and the accounts for the Practice itself. Over the years Paul has mentored many employees seeing them go on to bigger and better things including such positions as Chief Accountant at Merlin Entertainment, and London Accountant of Sta Travel. In his spare time Paul enjoys spending time with his family and is a season ticket holder at West Ham United (COYI).

Paul Decker

Paul qualified in 1984, having taken a degree in Economics at Reading University. After training at a mid-sized firm, he specialised in tax at Ernst & Young before reverting to his ‘roots' of general practice at NLP where he became a Partner in 1999. Paul specialises in working with clients in the entertainment industry, but also manages a portfolio of clients across a broad range of sectors from manufacturing to professional partnerships. The joy of his working day is making regular contact with clients and gaining their trust in his holistic approach to looking after their business and often personal interests. The profession demands a whole gamut of technical and communication skills which provides a constant, enjoyable challenge. In his spare time, Paul enjoys watching and playing football and is an avid fan of other sports including golf, cricket & rugby. He also enjoys eating out & socialising with friends, going to the cinema and theatre but first and foremost spending time with his family. Paul is actively involved in some local charity work and committees.

Paul Taiano

Paul joined Nyman Libson Paul as a trainee in 1978, qualified in 1981 and was promoted to Partner in 1986. The majority of his client base is connected with the entertainment industry including theatre, film and television, with clients ranging from the commercial sector (including theatre owners and managers and film, television and theatre production companies) through to charitable organisations and the regulatory sector including employer associations. As a result of his professional expertise and in-depth knowledge of the theatre industry, Paul joined the Board of Governors of The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 1996 where he went on to serve as Chair for the maximum term from 2005 to 2017. He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in December 2017. Following this position, in December 2017, he was appointed to the board of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts ("BAFTA") and also chairs the BAFTA finance and audit committee. Paul also acted as a non-executive Chair of the Board of Directors of the Jockey Club Racecourse at Huntingdon for the maximum term from September 2009 to December 2018, having been a board member since March 1995. In recognition of Paul's services to Drama Training and Horse Racing Welfare he was awarded an OBE in the 2018 New Year Honours list. National hunt horse racing is his lifelong passion but, unfortunately, his riding career was brought to an abrupt end following a fall in March 2005 when he suffered a broken neck resulting in tetraplegia paralysis. However, despite being confined to a wheelchair, Paul has continued to fulfil his work and voluntary commitments.

Rachel Baster

Straight from graduating with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Reading, Rachel joined NLP in 2011. Starting as a Finance Assistant in the Theatre Department, she has worked her way up the ranks and is now a fully qualified CIMA Accountant. Rachel is the Theatre Department's Assistant Manager and works across a broad range of productions, including show stopping West End musicals, award winning plays, ballets and touring productions. As an experienced Production Accountant, she deals with our client's management accounts, VAT returns and statutory accounts. She is generally the first port of call for any day to day ‘dramas' that inevitably occur when a production is running!

Sarfaraz Haji-Adam

Sarfaraz joined NLP in June 2007 and is a senior manager in the audit department. He assists clients small to large with their audits, accounts preparation and tax compliance. A fluent French speaker, Sarfaraz also deals with clients who are based overseas with business interests in the UK. Sarfaraz's hands-on approach and ability to forge effective long-lasting working relationships mean that he can quickly get on the wavelength of his clients, delivering practical insights and a client-focused service in a cost-effective manner. Away from work, Sarfaraz enjoys football, tennis, cricket and classical music.

Steven Buitekant

Steven joined NLP in 2014 from RSM Tenon where he was a manager in charge of his own client portfolio. He was fortunate to have acted for a well-known presenter of the Generation Game which would have thrilled his late Grandmother who adored him. Steven has worked on a varied range of clients from sole traders to large property investment companies. Outside of work he is a keen fan of many sports, especially American Football. He has a soft spot for Dagenham and Redbridge F.C. who reached Wembley a few years ago and managed a famous victory, albeit mostly memorable to people only in the Dagenham area.
