Craig Stewart

Craig joined the team at BASICS Scotland in November 2012 and his duties include maintenance and development of website/e-learning; filming, editing and production of videos for training purposes; provide general I.T. support within the organisation. Dr Catrina Hewitt

Catrina is a part time GP in Dunkeld and is an BASICS Scotland Instructor. At the weekends, Catrina can be found walking, running, cycling and socialising with friends and family.

Dr Ewen McLeod

Ewen is a GP in Ballater and has been actively involved in BASICS Scotland for many years. As well as being past chairman, Ewen is the Scottish Ambulance Service lead and medical consultant for the Sandpiper Trust.

Duncan Tripp

Duncan spent 35 years in the RAF in various roles mainly as a Winchman Paramedic on the UK SAR Force. During this time he was a Qualified Helicopter Crewman Instructor and Winchman Training Officer responsible for the training and standards of UK SAR Winchman both in their operational and medical roles. As a member of the RAF Mountain Rescue Service he took part in various worldwide expeditions, some as Medical Director or Expedition Leader. He has a long standing involvement with BASICS Scotland going back to 1996. Duncan is a BASICS Scotland Instructor, Responder and a member of the Clinical Governance Working Group. He is married to a very tolerant and forgiving wife.

Lisa MacInnes

Lisa joined the team in June 2019. She is a critical care nurse who has a passion for clinical and public health education. She is Lead Research Nurse of the Resuscitation Research Group, Edinburgh and is the Director of the Save a Life for Scotland, a public-facing CPR campaign which is the cornerstone of Scotland's Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest Strategy. Mr Dave Bywater

Dave joined the Scottish Ambulance Service in 1996. He has extensive experience working in remote and rural as well as urban environments. Dave has worked across all areas of the service. In his current role as Consultant Paramedic, he is the lead for the Scottish Ambulance Service Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest Strategy. Dave is an experienced pre-hospital emergency care instructor, teaching regularly on both adult and paediatric courses.

Mr Dave Currie

Dave is a Winchman Paramedic on Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 199, the Base Clinical Lead for Prestwick and sits on the Bristow SAR Clinical Governance team. He began his aviation and clinical career in the RAF, leaving in 2015 to join Bristow Helicopters under the HM Coastguard UKSAR contract. Initially flying out of Stornoway on Lewis, Dave acted as the Base Medical Coordinator and Technical Crew Instructor and was the Medical Officer for the island's Mountain Rescue Team before moving back home to the central belt. He is a BASICS Scotland responder and sits on the Scottish Mountain Rescue Medical Sub-committee. Dave now lives in Ayrshire with his wife Alex, a community nurse, and their two boys Harris and Reuben.

Mr John Pritchard

John Pritchard is a paramedic based in Crieff. As well as being Treasurer for BASICS Scotland, John is currently seconded to Helimed 76, Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) crew as Paramedic Lead. He is an active BASICS Scotland instructor on PHECC, PHPLS and IMC courses. A BASICS Scotland Responder, Regional Rep for the West of Scotland and a member of the College of Paramedics. Outside of work, John enjoys running, hill walking, rugby and can often be found on Loch Earn in his boat.

Mrs Alison Moggach

Alison (often known as Moggie) is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner for OOH's in Grampian P/T, also working as Emergency Care Practitioner P/T at Ardach Health Centre, Buckie. Alison is an active BASICS Scotland instructor on PHECC, PHPLS and IMC Courses. As well as a course director for ALS, APLS and GIC Instructor for Resus Council UK/ALSG, with teaching an obvious interest Alison is also employed P/T at Robert Gordon University as a visiting lecturer. Alison is our first active BASICS Scotland Nurse Responder in the Grampian area and is also involved with the local Grampian and Moray Immediate Care Groups. Outside of work Alison enjoys relaxing as her work life can be hectic and busy, she enjoys going away with her family and friends in "Martha" the motorhome, amateur dramatics, karaoke and then relaxing in her hot tub.

Prof. James Ferguson

Professor James Ferguson was born in Aberdeen and educated at Robert Gordon's College and Aberdeen University, graduating in Medicine in 1983. Basic Surgical Training was undertaken in Aberdeen, progressing to Accident and Emergeny Registrar training in Consultant in Accident and Emergency Medicine with a specialist interest in Paediatric Accident and Emergency in 1994. He is a visiting Professor to the Robert Gordon University and a reader in Emergency Medicine with Aberdeen University. He is retained by Eon Productions as a Medical Advisor. In 2006, he was seconded on a half time basis as National Clinical Lead to the newly established Scottish Centre for TeleHealth (SCT). Currently, the Scottish Centre for Telehealth and Telecare (SCTT) is implementing a range of national programmes.

Richard Price

Richard is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley and with the Emergency Medical Retrieval Service. He teaches on several BASICS courses and leads the Clinical Governance working group. Richard officially took up his role as Assistant Clinical Director in October 2016.
