Aaron Williams

Job Titles:
  • Architectural Assistant
Aaron joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2019 as an architectural assistant after completing his studies at Liverpool John Moores University attaining a master's in architecture. He is qualified RIBA level two and since returning to our Chester team in 2022 he continues working towards his part three qualification and his professional pathway to qualify as a chartered architect. Aaron's role in the Chester team is to develop drawing portfolios from concept stage through to final drawings using Revit. He also liaises with clients and external consultants to manage the delivery of schemes. With a keen interest in building information modelling (BIM), Aaron seeks to help grow the practice's skills, level of professionalism and client services in this area. As part of his career development, he also aspires to eventually manage schemes from inception to completion. Aaron is a keen sportsman and musician, when not in the office he enjoys a game of football, or when the weather's bad, banging out his favourite numbers on the drums.

Aimi Barnes

Job Titles:

Aimi joined Cassidy + Ashton in June 2021. She previously worked at Lovelock Mitchell Architects in Chester, after graduating from Wrexham Glyndwr University with an honour's degree in Architectural Design Technology in 2018. Supporting the architect and design team in Chester, Aimi is involved in design work, creating technical and construction drawings and building information modelling (BIM). She is also skilled in Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methods (BREEAM). Aimi enjoys working across a wide range of sector-related projects and is very passionate about keeping up to date with new technologies and design techniques. She is also holder of a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card which is a prerequisite for professionals working on many of the construction sites across the UK. In her spare time Aimi enjoys restoring furniture.

Alban Cassidy

Job Titles:
  • Director, Chartered Town Planner
As a Chartered Town Planner and a Chartered Environmentalist, Alban qualified in 1992 and has since gone on to work on a huge variety of projects from urban extensions, to major transport projects and the occasional gritty appeal. The 1,400 dwelling Whyndyke Farm urban extension won the North West RTPI Award for Planning Excellence in 2018 as did the Preston Bus Station Refurbishment in 2019 but Alban is equally comfortable working on more modest schemes including renewable energy projects, having obtained consent for one of the first combined solar farm and landfill gas projects in the country, urban regeneration or community schemes, with a particular skill in Environmental Impact Assessments. His experience covers all sectors including residential, commercial, retail, educational and leisure developments. Married to Marie-Louise with whom he has had three children, Alban enjoys his time away from the office with his family whilst also enjoying birding, travel, the occasional run and the odd pint of real ale.

Alistair Baines

Alistair joined Cassidy + Ashton in 1988 having graduated from the University of Manchester, School of Architecture. He was awarded a partnership in 2002 and appointed Chairman in 2014. Whilst the majority of his portfolio is in the education sector Alistair has wide ranging experience in sports and leisure, defence, commercial and retail and ecclesiastical and heritage. In support of his specialist knowledge, at all levels in education, Alistair has served as a school governor since 1997 (Arnold School, Blackpool now AKS Lytham) and was Chair of the Buildings and Facilities Committee. Based on the Fylde coast and having delivered several significant projects in the area, Alistair has helped the practice secure a number of awards for excellence in design, notably with the Blackpool Civic Trust. Alistair firmly believes that customer care is the foundation behind Cassidy + Ashton's success and places great emphasis on a personable and friendly approach to deliver an A+ service. Theodore Roosevelt once said "nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care."

Cameron Williams

Job Titles:

Cameron has a master's degree in building surveying and joined Cassidy + Ashton as a graduate building surveyor in November 2021. As part of our Preston building surveying team, Cameron is gaining valuable experience in new-build and refurbishment projects working for clients across the commercial, education and private sectors. Cameron is working towards becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and is enrolled on the RICS APC programme. When taking time out from work, Cameron loves skiing, football and golf as well as spending leisure time with his family and friends.

Carl Myerscough

Job Titles:

Carl joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2000 having previously spent eight years at a very small practice specialising in dwelling alterations. Since joining, Carl has completed numerous education projects, several churches, car showrooms, several heritage projects, such as the Grand Theatre in Blackpool and various healthcare projects, such as alterations and extensions at St Catherine's Hospice, both in CAD and Revit. Carl is a keen photographer and enjoys walking, cycling, and you can often find him browsing in record shops and fairs hunting for rare CDs and vinyl to add to his collection.

Charlotte Seward

Charlotte joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2019 as Secretary in the Building Surveying department - she also assists with IT, accounts and reception. Away from work, Charlotte enjoys reading and camping.

Chris Taylor

Chris joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2001 and qualified with distinction as an Architect in 2005. In 2015 Chris became a Director of the practice and over the years has gained considerable experience mainly in aviation, commercial, education and healthcare projects up to £15m. He enjoys the role of social secretary at Cassidy + Ashton and proud of his two children who know how to spend his money!

Claire Parker

Claire joined Cassidy + Ashton on work experience in the summer of 2012, during which time she concluded a Masters of Civic Design at the University of Liverpool. Claire became a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in November 2017.

Dan Thorpe

Dan re-joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2019 as an associate director having gained some excellent experience in smaller North West firms. Following graduation from Liverpool John Moores University he obtained his RIBA accreditation at Cassidy + Ashton in 2006. He was promoted to the senior management team as a director in April 2023. Dan has experience in a range of sectors and has delivered schemes for Booths, BAE and several Universities. He is also very proud to have been instrumental in the delivery of many local Church schemes, including Preston Minster, and enjoys seeing architecture play a part in changing people lives. Homes fit for purpose has always been an area of interest, and his thesis ‘Homes for the Future' formed part of his Masters submission. In recent years his attention has focused on designing specialist housing for Autism, Dementia and Ageing Care, and he is currently researching Co-Housing as a model to address a wider health and wellbeing agenda. Dan also has responsibility for business development and marketing, enjoying the strategic aspects of this, the opportunity to explore new ideas and the friendships made in the process - though he has had to start running to compensate for the additional ‘drinks and nibbles'! He is married to Nicki and has two sons, they love to spend time together in the Lake District walking, kayaking and simply being outdoors. Dan is an active member at an ‘amazing' Church and alongside his wife coordinates the Youth and Families work.

Daniel Lay

Daniel joined our Chester team in 2022 having graduated from University of Liverpool with a degree in Architecture. He has since competed part 1 of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) qualification and is continuing his education towards full qualification as architect, combining studies with his day-to-day work at Cassidy + Ashton. He aspires to eventually also gain a masters in architecture. Working in the heart of a beautiful historic city, Daniel enjoys being part of our professional team in Chester and gaining valuable experience across many skills and sectors before determining which direction his professional career path shall take. When not in the office Daniel enjoys the challenge of scaling climbing walls and also follows Grand Prix motorcycle racing.

Dave Owen

Dave is a Director of Cassidy + Ashton and has been working as a building surveyor since 1998, and has been a member of RICS since 2002. He has been involved in all aspects of surveying from building and defect surveys through to new-build and refurbishment projects. Dave established and developed Cassidy + Ashton's Chester and Mold offices, where he has been managing the building surveying projects since 2006. His main areas of specialism are design and management of refurbishment works, defect analysis, project management and disabled access reports/works.

Dominic Garrett

Job Titles:

Dominic joined Cassidy + Ashton's architecture team based in the Preston office in 2019. He is a specialist in virtual reality design with skills in 3D imagery and preparing detailed drawings for a variety of projects. He also works on urban scale projects to support our planning team and strengthen its master planning capabilities. He is keen to specialise in building schemes that offer flexible, inclusive and innovative places to work and live. Dominic has a Master of Architecture from Manchester School of Architecture. In 2020 he qualified as a RIBA Chartered Architect after completing part three of RIBA's Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture.

Finlay Woods

Finlay joined Cassidy + Ashton as an apprentice technician in September 2018, combining working in the practice's Preston office with completing several BTEC Level Three diplomas at Preston College, which he gained with distinction. He was promoted to the role of junior architectural technologist on the completion of his apprenticeship. Finlay's role at Cassidy + Ashton involves creating detailed proposal drawings using a range of design software including AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup. He also supports colleagues carrying out site surveys, making building measurements and drawing up plans. In September 2021 Finlay began studying the Architectural Technology Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). His aim on completion of his degree course is to become a Chartered Architectural Technologist. A keen sportsman, Finlay enjoys playing cricket at the weekends and following the football and Formula One racing.

Guy Evans

Guy joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2009 and is the Planning lead for the Cheshire and North Wales offices. Having been Chartered for over 20-years, Guy prides himself in being able to provide the client with clear practical advice, at a time when the Planning process is becoming ever more complex and not something to be entered into lightly. Following a Masters in Environmental Planning from LJM University, he cut his teeth in the Professional Services Division of a commercial and residential agency on the south coast. In 2004 he moved to Cheshire to take on a lead role in the western region Planning team of a national firm of property consultants. Working on projects of varying scale and complexity, covering all market sectors and for both private and public clients, his role as Lead Planner sees him prepare all necessary supporting planning documentation, inclusive of Environmental Statements and manage an extensive range of sub-consultants. With a solid understanding of urban design and experienced in the masterplanning process for major sites, Guy is also well versed in the strategic promotion of land through the Development Plan process. This work includes sustainability analysis, written representations and appearance at Examination and subsequent application process. Away from the office Guy enjoys the occasional round of golf, 5-a-side football and running (with no aspirations to run a marathon!). Guy has been a school Governor since 2010 (Malpas Alport Primary School).

Harry Williams

Harry has been part of the Chester building surveying team at Cassidy + Ashton since 2018. His areas of expertise include building pathology, contract administration and project management. Harry has a master's in commercial building surveying and is currently working towards his RICS Chartership. He enjoys being a part of Cassidy + Ashton's multi-disciplinary team in Chester and working in a collaborative environment. In his free time, Harry enjoys hiking in Snowdonia and following his favourite football teams Liverpool FC and Wrexham AFC.

Heidi Stringer

Heidi started working for the company in December 2013 and ensures the Chester office is running smoothly day-to-day! Outside work Heidi is a social butterfly who values spare time with friends and family and the occasional glass of wine. As a huge music fan, mainly rock and metal, she also enjoys going to the cinema to catch the latest films and making the most of her Netflix subscription.

Ian Riches

Ian joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2003 whilst studying at UCLan for his BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology. He has continued to develop his skills having gained a strong technical background and varied experience enabling him to manage the design process from initial concepts through to full detailed solutions. Ian's key attributes are technical translation of the design concept, he co-ordinates all construction issues and ensures the client's expectations are always met. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.

Ian Woods

Job Titles:

Ian joined the practice in 1984 and has progressed from trainee technician to associate senior technologist. He has worked in a varied array of fields, including leisure, education and housing. Major clients he has worked with include BAE, Tesco and Punch Taverns. His technical experience has helped in assisting many of the junior technical staff through their educational studies.

Ikraam Ibrahim

Job Titles:

Ikraam qualified as an Architectural Technologist with a first from UCLan University in 2019 while studying part time. Prior to that he'd achieved an HNC in construction and surveying. Since graduating, Ikraam has undertaken several key positions across the North West - developing technical skills in various areas of expertise including producing scan to BIM models for retail projects, working on masterplanning projects and industrial developments, as well as taking on a design and technical role in the residential housing sector. Before joining Cassidy + Ashton in early 2024, his most recent role was job lead at Corstophine and Wright Ltd, working on projects including the new build Crewe Bus Station and multi-storey carpark and the proposed new headquarters of Wilmslow police station. As part of the C+A team - Ikraam plays a key role in developing architectural design concepts across the different stages of the RIBA Plan of Works from concept drawings to onsite to project completion. Ikraam is working towards his CIAT Chartership to become MCIAT and is keen to then work his way to senior technologist level and towards associate. A recent father, Ikraam is kept busy these days in his spare time by a very active toddler.

Iwan Cale

Iwan joined Cassidy + Ashton's Chester office in 2022 from Curtins Consulting Engineers. He previously worked at Clwyd Alyn Housing Association and Flintshire County Council and is keen to further his career at Cassidy + Ashton and is seeking to help grow our customer base on Cheshire and North Wales. Iwan is a skilled building surveyor and adept in project management. He also enjoys using his mentoring skills to help educate other professionals in building and surveying disciplines. With a diploma in surveying from the College of Estate Management, University of Reading, Iwan also has professional membership with the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB). He is a holder of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card and has undertaken a qualification in Managing Safely Course (IOSH), which helps to raise standards and safety when working on construction sites. Outside the office, Iwan enjoys walking. He recently completed the Offa's Dyke Walk and is currently walking his way through the Wales Coastal Path, a designated 870-mile trail that follows the coastline of Wales.

Joe Walmsley

Joe joined Cassidy + Ashton in March 2015 as a Graduate Building Surveyor after achieving a 1st class honours degree at the University of Central Lancashire. He has since become an elected Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, having undertaken the practice's structured training programme. Joe has experience completing both new-build and refurbishment projects for clients in the commercial, education and private sectors. Prior to university, Joe lived in Québec, Canada, where he became a professional ski coach with the CSIA/AMSC, CSCF and CADS. Joe is also a keen golfer with previous associations with Lancashire Golf. He now enjoys a more social game and is a proud member of Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club. Outside of work, Joe enjoys an active lifestyle with his friends and family, and partakes in various activities including playing the piano, cycling, running and swimming.

Jon Bailey

Jon joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2002 as a graduate with a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in building studies from Salford University. He then crafted his knowledge and technical abilities over the next 12 years, working closely with the practice's experienced technicians and architects. After a brief spell away from Cassidy+ Ashton, gaining a wealth of knowledge in healthcare and further developing his skills in REVIT 3D design software, Jon re-joined the practice in 2017, and enjoys working on a diverse portfolio of projects with the freedom to express creativity. Jon is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists. His areas of sector expertise include healthcare, education, commercial property, hostels and residential developments. When away from the office Jon enjoys playing tennis and is an avid F1 fan. He also has a passion for photography, and some of his images are featured on Cassidy + Ashton's website.

Josh Alty

Josh joined Cassidy + Ashton in November 2021 as a graduate building surveyor having completed his Bachelor of Science (honours) degree. He is enrolled on the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) APC programme and is keen to further his knowledge within the construction industry and begin working towards his Chartership. Josh is highly skilled in preparing detailed drawings using computer aided design (CAD). He is particularly interested in building up a design portfolio working with many schools, within each diocese in the Lancashire region. Away from the office, Josh enjoys the great outdoors including camping, kayaking and hiking.

Kengo Kuma

Regan Jay joined Cassidy + Ashton in October 2021, after graduating with first class honours from Liverpool John Moores University with a bachelor's degree in architecture. He is continuing his education towards full qualification as architect, combining his studies with his day-to-day work at Cassidy + Ashton. As part of our architectural and design team Regan Jay is involved in both residential and commercial projects. He has a particular interest in contemporary design, working with sustainable materials and creating spaces and places that improve the wellbeing and experience of the people that use them. Regan finds inspiration from the designs of Kengo Kuma, a Japanese architect famous for his creative use of natural materials and spatial creativity. Away from the office Regan Jay plays competitive badminton and also enjoys climbing.

Lawrence McBurney

Lawrence first joined the Practice in 2000 shortly after completing his first honours degree at Queens University in Belfast and prior to finishing his studies at John Moore's University in Liverpool. In 2007 he became an associate with a particular interest in advancing the quality and level of design at the practice. As an outstanding project leader his role on developments is to work with all the ‘team' to ensure a very high standard of design is provided integrating architectural, environmental, structural and financial requirements. Lawrence became a Director in 2016 and continues to grow a diverse portfolio of clients across the region.He brings an architectural passion, drive and desire to provide first-class developments tailored to the context of the site and the client's vision. Lawrence has substantial educational experience at delivering modern, exciting facilities that drive forward advancement in educational teaching and is very keen to see good quality architecture help influence and accommodate the modern and changing needs of society. His experience covers a broad spectrum of sectors including educational, commercial, residential, conservation and industrial. Recent examples of his work include the design for Preston's new Porsche car showroom, Troutbeck Crescent social housing for Blackpool Council, The Lotus special needs school in Blackpool and work for Manchester Metropolitan University. Lawrence was instrumental in Cassidy + Ashton winning a prestigious RIBA National Award for the work on Preston Bus Station and has helped secure many other awards including Civic Trust awards and RTPI awards.

Mark Trickett

Mark joined Cassidy + Ashton in January 2022 and has a wide range of experience working in the education, healthcare and commercial sectors. Mark is a highly skilled chartered building surveyor. He enjoys working in collaboration with the practice's other teams on a wide variety of projects to serve Cassidy + Ashton's established and wide-ranging client base. Gaining his chartered membership in building surveying with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyor (RICS) in November 2019. Mark is a valued senior member of the building surveying team at Cassidy + Ashton, helping to develop and grow our client relationships. In his spare time, Mark is often out and about scaling rock faces in Wales and the Lake District.

Matthew Thompson

Job Titles:

Matthew joined Cassidy + Ashton's architecture and design team based in Preston in July 2021. He previously worked at Firth Architects in Lytham, where he specialised in the design of luxury residential developments, working on a wide range of projects including house extensions, renovations and new builds. His experience includes working on the design of bespoke ‘one-off' high-valued houses and renovations involving the adaptation of old and listed buildings for residential use, providing a more contemporary purpose. After qualifying as an architect in 2020 following completion of Part 3 of the RIBA's Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture, Matthew now aims to achieve his goal of becoming an accredited conservation architect. He also has a keen interest in expanding his experience in commercial property design. Matthew's passion for working on old properties includes completing the renovation of his own home, a 200-year-old cottage in the Trough of Bowland. He has also worked on the design of the residential conversion of a church as well as a current client project converting an old tile kiln into a family home. Away from the office, Matthew is a keen cyclist and enjoys outdoor adventure sports. He has completed a number of cycling events for charity.

Michael Hartley

Job Titles:

Michael joined the practice as a Chartered Architect in 1978 having previously worked for Lancashire County Council. He was a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and he later became an RIBA Accredited Specialist Conservation Architect, a qualification recognised by Historic England and the Heritage Lottery Fund which allowed him to carry out grant aided projects to various Grade 1, 2* and 2 Listed Buildings. He became an Equity Partner in 1986, and was elected as Senior Partner/Chairman in April, 2004, before becoming a Consultant to the Practice from 2014. He is currently the Chairman of the North West Historic Churches Committee responsible for all Ecclesiastical Applications involving changes to Roman Catholic Listed Churches in the Archdiocese of Liverpool and the Dioceses of Salford, Lancaster and Shrewsbury. Michael has worked on a varied portfolio of projects during his career, including: educational, ecclesiastical, residential, recreational, commercial, retail and defence projects. In more recent years, he developed a considerable experience in both Education and Conservation based projects. His major Clients included: Blackburn Diocese, Liverpool Archdiocese, Salford Diocese, Lancaster Diocese, The Methodist Church, University of Central Lancashire, Stonyhurst College, BAE Systems, Tesco plc, Brookhouse plc and James Hall [Southport] Ltd [better known as Spar]. Michael has also held the following appointments: Approved Architect to Blackburn and Carlisle DAC's, [Diocesan Advisory Committee]. Professional Advisor to the Historic Churches Committee for the North West Assessor to the RIBA Conservation Register. Cathedral Architect at the Cathedral Church of St John the Evangelist, Salford. College Architect to Stonyhurst College, and St Mary's Hall, Clitheroe. Michael continues to support the Practice in his role as Consultant.

Neil Aaron

Neil joined Cassidy + Ashton at the age of 18 in 1985 having completed a BTEC HNC in building studies and was promoted to Associate in charge of technical development throughout the group in 2000. He is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists. Neil has worked on both public and private sector projects over the years with major clients such as BAe Systems, Tesco and Lancashire County Council. He brings an enthusiasm to challenge and drive forward modern methods of construction within the practice. His technical experience and project leadership is second to none with a committed desire to drive forward standards.

Olivia Forde

Job Titles:

Olivia joined Cassidy + Ashton in early 2021 after graduating with a first-class degree in MPlan Town and Regional Planning from the University of Liverpool in 2020. With a keen ambition to build on her own planning skills and abilities, she successfully gained Chartered Membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) in June 2023. Olivia enjoys being involved in a diverse range of projects, working on a variety of schemes across the practice, including educational, residential, commercial, heritage and glamping projects. She is particularly interested in strategic planning and is passionate about navigating complex planning issues, managing the expectations of various stakeholders to development, and ultimately the smooth interactions between people and places.

Paul Burrows

Paul started working for Cassidy + Ashton in 1999 as a Building Surveyor. He lives in Northwich with his wife Carol and has two grown up daughters and spends his free time showing horses and ponies, enjoys a nice glass of wine having attended several wine tasting courses!

Paul Drinnan

Paul joined Cassidy + Ashton in July 2019 after he graduated with a Master of Architecture with Merit from UCLan and qualified as an Architect in 2021. Paul provides support for the architecture and design team at the Preston office. He is a fan of ‘regionalism' design and believes this is the most challenging, but interesting style which amalgamates historical and contemporary design philosophies. Paul's aim is to develop a design portfolio which reflects the distinctiveness and uniqueness of a places' heritage, but contributes to the futuristic and innovative cues of contemporary design. A keen footballer, Paul plays centre-back for Galgate FC in the West Lancashire League as well as local team Anchorsholme FC, part of the Blackpool Sunday Alliance League. His ever-growing experience with the practice is allowing himself to develop his overall architectural vocabulary towards design. He hopes that his time at the Practice will be a challenging & exciting journey.

Philip Gornall

Phil joined the Cassidy + Ashton as an under-graduate building surveyor in 1988, whilst studying on the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited building surveyors' degree course at UCLan. He graduated from university and was elected a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1994.

Richard is a senior technician with 20 years of experience in many sectors of construction including healthcare projects. With detailed knowledge of construction standards and legislation he leads the technical design on major projects. He has both AutoCAD and BIM experience.

Richard Williams

Richard joined Cassidy + Ashton in October 2021, having previously worked at D2 Architects in Chester. Prior to that he worked for several practices in London where he began his career in architecture after gaining a Masters in Architecture in 2017 from the University of Kent. Richard is also a Member of the Architects Registration Board. With extensive experience in residential design, Richard has worked on the design of bespoke high-end domestic extensions and alterations. He enjoys developing a close working relationship with clients, helping to interpret their visions into reality. As an architect at Cassidy + Ashton, Richard seeks to gain experience in the commercial sector and has a particular interest in ecclesiastical projects. He is highly skilled in illustration and visual presentation. In his spare time Richard enjoys the great outdoors, particularly fishing. He also has a keen interest in astronomy.

Samuel Okoh

Job Titles:

Samuel joined Cassidy + Ashton's Preston architecture and design team in January 2023. He previously worked at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) as part of its Revenue Projects Team working on building refurbishments and on its strategy to improve accessibility across its campus. Samuel was involved in the refurbishment of MMU's Grosvenor West building and worked closely with the C+A team appointed as lead and heritage architects on this lifecycle refurbishment project. He has also worked on several architectural projects internationally, including in Mexico, and his homeland, Nigeria. As a designer, Samuel has a keen interest in incorporating sustainable solutions into his work, and believes architects play an important role to ensure buildings and developments achieve sustainability not just through design and materials used, but economically, socially and environmentally too - all within a feasible and affordable manner. Samuel has a Masters in Architecture from The University of Manchester, and became a Chartered Architect in November 2023 after completing his RIBA course and qualifying exams while at C+A. In his spare time, he enjoys being involved in cinema and film production and has often been casted as an extra on film sets, including The Crown.

Sarah Pegg

Sarah joined Cassidy + Ashton in January 2017 as an Associate and brings 20 years' experience of successfully delivering projects from inception to completion across the education, commercial, community and residential sectors including the first cross laminated timber new build primary school in Cheshire, which gained a Chester Civic Trust Award in 2014.

Shane Dunne

Job Titles:

Shane joined Cassidy + Ashton in 2022 to support the architecture and design team in our Chester office. He previously worked at Lovelock Mitchell in Chester. An accomplished architectural technologist in the delivery of stage four construction drawings and detailing, Shane works across a wide variety of sector related projects. His role at Cassidy + Ashton is to help deliver a high standard of technical detailing and construction drawings, and to improve our expertise in building information modelling (BIM). Shane has a diploma in construction studies and is a holder of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card which helps to raise standards and safety when working on construction sites.

Simon Barlow

Simon joined Cassidy + Ashton in March 2020 and through practice opportunities and team success he progressed into the role of Associate in April 2022. An architect and masterplanner with over ten years post qualification experience, Simon has worked across a diverse range of sectors including education, commercial, retail and leisure, residential and urban regeneration/masterplanning including award winning projects and sustainability accolades and accreditations. His work has covered all RIBA work stages from appraisal, feasibility studies and design development through to construction, practical completion and in-use, in both new build and refurbishment projects. Simon is adept at working across projects of varying scale and complexity, for both public and private clients. Simon's diverse experience, skills and qualifications enable him to work confidently with clients, consultants and contractors in a professional and collaborative manner and is proficient working in BIM. He demonstrates an enthusiastic and innovative approach to any new project that he is assigned. As part of the practice's management, architecture and design team, Simon is keen to apply and develop a broad skillset that compliments and enhances the practice's A+ service and reputation.
