Carol spent 5 years as an industrial chemist before retraining as an electronics engineer following a career break. She has worked at the Open University for nearly 30 years and is currently Deputy Head of the School of Engineering and Innovation.

Carmen Zaragoza is an industrial engineer specialised in energy with a masters in renewable energy technologies. Passionate about the energy sector and its constant evolution, she works as a gas turbine global solutions engineer in an international company. She was initially drawn into Engineering by her curiosity and desire to learn how things work.
Carolina is an Electrical Engineer with a Master's in Sustainable Energy Technology. With over 10 years of experience in the transmission and distribution of electricity, she now works as a Business Development Manager for Vattenfall Networks and is working towards her Chartership status. She is particularly passionate about diversity and inclusion and has led numerous initiatives including the London Cluster in 2019.
Chrisma Jain graduated from the University of Leeds in 2004 with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering. She is a Chartered Engineer working at Transport for London as a Senior Project Manager. She mobilised and is leading a £220m rail contract to modernise and renew the track and drainage infrastructure on London's tube.

Dame Dawn Childs is the Chief Executive Officer of Pure Data Centre Group (Operations) Ltd. She was formerly the UK Change Director for National Grid where she led the transformation required to meet efficiency expectations whilst still delivering to net zero. Prior to this she was the Group Engineering Director for Merlin Entertainments Group with responsibility for engineering standards, practices and processes of the worldwide portfolio of more than 100 theme parks, resorts and attractions.
Dr Katherine Critchley graduated from Coventry University in 2002 with a PhD in Process Analysis Software for the draw bending of small diameter thin walled tubes. Prior to this Katherine had gained an MSc in Computer Aided Engineering (1992) and an Honours Degree in Engineering (1991), from Coventry University.

Dr Sarah Chen is a Civil Engineer and a 2018 winner of the Top 50 Women in Engineering Awards (WE50) - Transferrers and Returners. Sarah transferred into engineering after a career in medicine and now enjoys a career working for EDF Energy.

Dr Tosha Nembhard is the aerospace Engineering Programme Director at the University of Leicester, having recently served as an Assistant Professor in Aerospace Engineering at Coventry University. Prior to that, she worked as Head of Advanced Programmes at Collins Aerospace. She is originally from Mauritius, is married to her best friend and they have a beautiful son.

Professor Elena Gaura is a Research Institute Director at Coventry University. She draws on 25 years of research experience and a decade of work as a senior manager and leader in engineering.
Emily Spearman is Head of PMO (Portfolio Management Office) in QHSE for Orsted - the most sustainable energy company in the world. She leads a team overseeing the global portfolio of QHSE projects across offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, bioenergy and energy storage. Part of the QHSE Senior Leadership, Emily plays a major part in setting the organisation's strategic QHSE direction. A far cry from her first role as an engineer working on offshore oil rigs in the North Sea.
Jennifer graduated from Loughborough University in 2018 with a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering and a Diploma in Industrial Studies. During her degree she completed a placement year at ITP Aero working in both jet engine design and certification. Currently Jennifer is a PhD student at Loughborough University researching jet engine noise cancellation through metamaterial acoustic liners.

In 2004 she was a finalist for the UK's Young Achiever Leadership and Diversity Awards and, since then, has used her position to empower women and BAME communities, and champion STEM.

My career spans diverse areas of industry, education and gender equity agenda. I started my engineering education in Czechoslovakia, as it was then, by attending my local Technical College from the age of 14 - 18, then Technical University before moving to UK following the Soviet military invasion of Czechoslovakia. I have faced many obstacles in my engineering career in the UK during the late 60s and early 70s and my career in engineering did not take off until later in Germany.

After graduating from University of Manchester, Natalie worked as a transportation engineer for a global built environment consultancy. Paula is a Civil Engineer with a wide range of experience managing large civil engineering projects including Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station early stages. Her vast experience is reflected in her Chartered Fellowship status of both the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
Paula is an advocate for engineering and is an active member of her institutions. Paula is an ICE Trustee and Head of UK Regions and Founding Chair of Engineering Together; a multi institution group. Paula was instrumental in setting up Engineering Together in order to enable better collaboration between engineering sectors.
Rita Kanu is the director of IntelliDIgest Limited and PhD researcher (Civil Engineering) at Heriot Watt University with solid and progressive experience in most aspects of Civil Engineering, specialty in water, wastewater and waste to energy systems. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (MCIWEM). A pioneer of Heriot Watt Female in Engineering and Science forum, a platform dedicated to encouraging young females to develop an interest in and excel in STEM related fields which has evolved to become Heriot Watt WES Affiliated Student Group.

Graduating from Bristol University with a Mechanical Engineering Degree, Sarah Haslam has over 25 years of experience within the automotive industry and has held many different roles in Quality, Product Development and Manufacturing.
Sarah is currently Chief Engineer, Features and Software Integration for Commercial Vehicles, Ford of Europe, based at Dunton Campus.

Susan Robson is a Principal Consultant at National Grid. Building on seven years' experience as a management consultant with PwC, she works across the National Grid business to help drive the strategic initiatives that will play a key part in enabling the UK's transition to net zero carbon. Alongside this and in a voluntary capacity, Susan has significantly contributed to the promotion of gender equity, inclusion and diversity in the company through building, professionalising and chairing the gender diversity employee resource group.
Tymele is currently a Doctoral Researcher in Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University, graduating in 2021. Passionate about health, she works on improving the efficacy of medical treatments by encapsulating drugs into biodegradable polymer microparticles. She also has a Materials Engineering degree from the Université de Toulon (France) and an MSc in Advanced Materials from Cranfield University.
