Scouts are the UK's biggest mixed youth organisation. Avon is one of the largest Scout Counties in the UK, with a total membership of over 11,000+ and growing... Avon Scout County is one of the largest Scout Counties in the UK. We have more than 11,000 members and about 4,000 volunteers. We cover a large area that includes Bristol in the centre of the Scout County, Weston Super Mare in the south and the area surrounding Thornbury in South Gloucestershire to the North. It also takes in the City of Bath and the towns of Nailsea, Portishead and Keynsham. To make this large area more manageable we section it into nine Scouting Districts... Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers, and it's for everyone. We go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. We make friends, have fun, play games, and work in teams.
