Derek Chivers

Ian Hugill

Ian joined the team in 2000 after a career in the Army. His interests include hill walking, skiing and mountain biking. Ian has previously held the position of members rep and is currently the team Public Relations Officer.

Michael Hughes

Mike attended medical school in Hull and York. He joined the team in 2011 while living and working in Scarborough as a doctor.He has a passion for pre-hospital care and loves the team working aspect of being part of mountain rescue.

Peter Thompson

Rosemary Beale

Rosemary joined the team in January 2021 as a trainee support member. She has a love of being outdoors whether it be walking along the beach, hiking across the moors, climbing or skiing on mountains. When not in the outdoors she works at a local hospital as a nurse on the Children's Ward.

Sam de Belle

Sam joined as a Trainee Support member in Dec 2021 after originally getting involved with the team by being a dogsbody for mountain rescue search dogs.

Steve Glasper

  • Freelance Mountain Leader and Medical School Roleplayer
Having spent most of his mis-spent youth hillwalking, climbing, and mountaineering Steve joined mountain rescue in 1976 and has now served for over 48 years and has responded to around 900 team call-outs A qualified International and Winter Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing and Navigation instructor Steve's current rolls within the team includes Party Leader, Flood and Swift Water Rescue Technician and Extended Skills Casualty Care Provider Along with enjoying time out in the hills with the Team he also enjoys spending time out in his Campavan and inflatable kayak and a current project involves paddling the full length of the River Thames

Tracy Chapman

Tracy joined the team in January 2022 as a trainee support member. Her interests include trekking, cycling and landscape photography. Tracy owns and runs a Glamping site on the Yorkshire Wolds and is a professional dog photographer.
