Aiden Hill - CFO

Aiden joined Clarity as a Junior Trader in January 2014, supporting our scrap lead acid battery and PRN trading teams, learning the business from our experienced traders. As our RDF business expanded, he began supporting the operations for our waste to fuel team, acting as the first point of contact for the hubs and transport companies for our lead acid battery, waste and plastic contracts.

Annie Curran

Annie is Clarity's Data Coordinator, and her skills in relationship building and excellent communication make her an invaluable addition to the team, striving to enable Comply with Clarity members to make informed choices about their packaging. Barry Dunne

Barry, our Recycling Specialist, brings a wealth of expertise gained from years of experience in a world-class manufacturing environment. With a career in waste management spanning over 30 years Barry's skills, expertise and passion are invaluable to our team. His extensive knowledge of ISO and QS standards further enhances his contributions to our organisation. Having a background in the environmental and recycling industries, Barry has successfully engaged with organisations striving for excellence and sustainability. His experiences and insights have proven to be instrumental in driving our success and that of our partners. Ben Buggle

Prior to joining Clarity in 2023, Ben spent several years working as a bookseller and manager in Ireland. He brings customer service and relationship-building skills to his role as a Business Support Executive managing the Comply with Clarity compliance scheme. In his academic career, Ben studied for a bachelors in applied psychology with a particular focus on consumer psychology and its applications in business, and recently completed a postgraduate diploma in marketing and management focusing on the benefits of corporate social responsibility, sustainability as a component of business strategy and environmentally conscious branding.

Chris Taylor - COO

Chris, the Director of Operations at Clarity Environmental, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience and a deep understanding of the industry. Joining Clarity in May 2011 as a Business Development Executive, Chris quickly showcased his skills and transitioned to our PRN trading team. His exceptional performance led to his promotion as the Commercial Manager in 2014, and in 2019, Chris assumed the role of Commercial Director. In recognition of his hands-on approach and invaluable contributions, Chris transitioned to Director of Operations in 2023. This title accurately reflects his commitment to leading by example and actively participating in the company's day-to-day operations. With highly advanced knowledge of the industry, PRN market, and battery trading operations, Chris leverages his expertise to drive positive change and create a lasting impact on businesses within the recycling industry and, ultimately, the consumer. Chris is known for his compassionate leadership style, leading with humanity, passion, and expertise. David Honcoop - Chairman

David has a diverse background spanning the waste, recycling, and telecom sectors. He began his career in the waste industry, managing landfill sites and a waste collection fleet for his family business. David founded Clarity Environmental (initially API Trading) in 2002. The company's primary focus was packaging recovery note (PRN) sales. Since its inception, Clarity has experienced remarkable growth and has become one of the largest PRN traders in the UK. Since then, David created Clarity's WEEE compliance scheme as well as Clarity's packaging compliance scheme, Comply with Clarity which is now one of the largest schemes in the UK. Moreover, David launched Restored Earth, an organisation dedicated to acquiring, decontaminating, restoring, and planting land to create natural habitats. This initiative also aims to provide public amenity and education. Currently, David serves as Clarity's Chairman, having stepped back from his previous role as Managing Director. In his current capacity, he focuses on brand development, risk analysis, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. David's expertise and dedication ensure the smooth operation of the business and further reinforce Clarity's commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Ed Ewence - Chief Commercial Officer

Ed brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the team. With a degree in Film from Sussex University, Ed embarked on a successful sales career, swiftly advancing from telemarketing to account management for international technology companies. In 2017, Ed joined Clarity, initially working in the PRN and Waste to Fuel divisions. Through his dedication and drive, he rapidly progressed within the company and now leads a team of skilled procurement specialists across our PRN, Material Recycling, Battery & WEEE Divisions.

Elaine Murphy

Elaine is our Battery Procurement Manager, trading scrap lead acid batteries. Elaine joined Clarity in October 2018 as a Business Support Executive working in our battery division to help ensure the smooth running of our automotive battery take back scheme. During the 10 months working to ensure the smooth running of our automotive battery take back scheme and providing administrative support she has shown great progresses within the team and has quickly taken more responsibility within the division. Born in Middlesex, Elaine grew up in the Republic of Ireland, where she achieved a Bachelor of Business Degree from Cork Institute of technology. Elaine has had a varied work background, ranging from an accounts clerk in the construction industry to running a pizza restaurant and managing a care home facility.

Emma Joel

Emma is our Data Account Manager. She joined the Clarity team having worked in the Financial Services sector for more than 20 years, developing experience in Compliance, Business Operations, and Data Analysis. She is keen to apply her depth of experience to support our members navigate the regulatory environment. Emma believes passionately that businesses can benefit from having good data to rely on and that through this, a business can make decisions that can manage not only the obligation costs but also have a positive environmental impact. She understands how important it is that we give the best member experience available and never forgets that our clients have a choice about who to partner with when it comes to Environmental Compliance.

Ewa Niescierewski

Ewa is our Business Support Team Supervisor who joined Clarity in August 2019. Ewa provides operational and finance support to ensure the smooth running of our operations as well as administrative support across all divisions in the business. Born in Poland, Ewa first came to the UK as an au pair to learn English in 2004. After relocating to Brighton in 2008, Ewa worked for a large high street retailer in administrative support for 5 years before starting her own business creating and selling hand sewn goods.

Flo Pepper

Flo joined Clarity in 2022 as a Marketing Executive. Leveraging her degree in Political Journalism and experience in communications, research and content creation, she has been making strides within Clarity having recently been promoted to Senior Policy and Communications Executive. Collaborating closely with our Account Management team and Director of Compliance Services, Flo ensures Clarity's scheme members are well informed through the writing of articles and comprehensive guides around policy reform and industry news. She also manages the development of digital educational content, enhancing Clarity's reputation as a trusted leader in the industry, known for reliable insights and guidance.

George Williamson

George joined Clarity Environmental in 2022 as our Data Coordinator. With a wealth of experience in customer service and first-line maintenance in the ATM Helpdesk field, George's problem-solving skills are invaluable to his current role. His dedication contributes to maintaining high data quality standards, supporting our commitment to exceptional service and data integrity for our members.

Glynn Bass

Originally hailing from the North East of England, Glynn came from Middlesbrough to Brighton on holiday in 1999 and loved it so much that he never returned. He has lived and worked in the area ever since. Glynn joined our Environmental Compliance division at the start of 2021 as a Business Development Executive then moved into the Compliance Scheme Account Management Team. He brings extensive experience from his previous fire compliance sales role. With a strong customer relationship management background, his expertise enables us to provide the first-class experience we pride ourselves on, fostering trust and satisfaction among our clients. Glynn's dedication to maintaining strong client relationships and commitment to our environmental responsibility mission make him a huge asset to our team.

Greg Campbell

Jace Taylor

Jake Wright

James Ascott

James joined in early 2023, drawing upon his background in business administration. With a Bachelor's degree in International Business, and experience in accounts and logistics, James possesses extensive knowledge of business operations. His passion for the environment stems from his love for the outdoors and countryside. James excels in building strong relationships and trust with suppliers and clients, driven by his meticulous eye for detail. In his current role, he ensures timely PRN delivery, manages battery admin, and collects quarterly data from our battery scheme members.

Jenny Burge

Jenny joined the Clarity team in 2019, bringing her extensive expertise of over 15 years working in the waste and resources sector, to the Packaging Compliance Team as a Data Compliance Specialist. Jenny's hands-on experience includes working at a waste transfer and collection facility, issuing evidence and accreditation within the sector and running training sessions on the packaging waste regulations and packaging data collection. Jenny has successfully implemented a number of packaging weight data collation system for a variety of industries, including large multi-site companies. She has managed annual submissions and assisted with compliance. Having qualified as a lead auditor, Jenny actively carries out on-site support. This invaluable experience is being used for our current packaging scheme members to ensure they get the best support possible in handling their packaging data, as well as bringing experience of assisting with Environment Agency audits.

Jess Andrews

John Adams

On leaving school, John joined the family transport business established by his grandmother, father and uncle in 1933. Under John's management, the company developed into one of the largest family-owned waste disposal companies in the UK, with services including hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal and operating toxic waste landfill sites. The family business was subsequently sold and in 1999 John became one of the first independent brokers of P(E)RNS. John is a Director and shareholder of Clarity, working in an advisory role, utilising his years as a successful business owner with a wealth of expertise in the waste and resources sector, specialising in waste disposal and recycling divisions.

Kate Ballard

Kate, a valuable member of the Clarity team, is dedicated to forging new and impactful partnerships for our business. With a diverse background, she brings a wealth of skills and experience to the table. Having worked in client-facing and team management roles internationally, Kate has gained valuable insights from both large corporations and smaller entrepreneurial ventures. Her professional journey spans various industries, including industrial plastic manufacture, grocery wholesale and retail, textile and clothing production and in supplying TÜV-certified bespoke products for the highly regulated automotive and food manufacturing sectors. Passionate about environmental issues and client engagement, Kate is a staunch advocate for customer satisfaction. Since joining in 2021, she has rapidly immersed herself in the packaging compliance sector, acquiring extensive knowledge of its multiple facets. Martin Trigg-Knight

Martin, our Director of Compliance Services, joined Clarity in 2014 after a successful career in academia and charity fundraising. Starting as an Account Manager, Martin focused on expanding our offerings, particularly to brand names, within the WEEE and Packaging Schemes. He then transitioned to our wholesale PRN trading team, supplying PRNs to major schemes and producers in the UK. This role exposed him to Clarity's wide network of PRN suppliers and provided him with firsthand experience in navigating challenging markets. Martin's involvement in regulatory and policy affairs led him to become the Chair of the Packaging Scheme Forum, a crucial compliance scheme industry body that liaises with DEFRA, The Environment Agency, and HMRC. He also sits on various government advisory bodies, including the Industry Working Group on Plastic Packaging Tax and the Covid 19 Industry Advisory Group. Through these roles, Martin advocates for the interests of our key grocery and retail members, aiming to address volatility in the PRN market.

Miles Patience

Having successfully managed a micro business producing Soil Association certified products, he understands the intricacies of operating in heavily regulated environments.
