Senior Independent Director Non Executive Director Appointed to the Board in April 2018. Former Wales international rugby player Amanda is Managing Director of FairPlay Ltd, which exists to support people and sports organisations.

Angela Deakin

Job Titles:

Angela joined England Handball in 2014, and is now Membership Services Manager. In this role, Angela manages the EHA memberships, providing high quality support to clubs and members across the operation of all memberships, registrations, and player transfers.

Chad Ehlertsen

Safeguarding Board Lead Non Executive Director. Chad was elected to the Board in September 2017. He is an executive with CEO and Board-level experience within the sports industry. Chad is a Senior Regional Manager at the FA. He works strategically to support business growth across the South West and Midlands.

Chris Towler

Job Titles:

Chris has been part of EHA since August 2022, having initially joined as a programme support officer, Chris is now the Coaching and Workforce lead for EHA. In this role, Chris manages and oversees EHA's delivery of coaching and refereeing courses. Chris also manages the delivery of handball courses for schools, colleges and universities who are looking for CPD for their staff and/or courses for their staff and students. Chris is also the best person to contact for certificates and queries around the administrative processes regarding course bookings, member profiles and credentials. Outside Handball, Chris has a keen interest in Cricket, Rugby and American Football.

Cindy Ashworth

Cindy joined England Handball in 2013 as the Office Manager. As Company Secretary/Finance Lead, Cindy provides administration support and guidance to the Board of Directors. Oversees end-to-end finance operations, including financial planning and improving procedures and controls. Management of the HR function for the organisation.

Diaraye Diallo

Heather Williams

UKAD and Performance Board Lead Non Executive Director. Heather was appointed to the Board in April 2018. She is a former national level swimmer and triathlete. Since 2003 she has combined her passion for sport with her professional business background, first at British Triathlon and then at British Canoeing.

Jean-Christophe Lacour

Chair of Development Group Non Executive Director. JC was elected to the Board in November 2020. JC, who played handball in his native France at secondary school and university (MSc), co-founded Ealing Handball Club after London 2012. He is now Chair of West London Eagles Handball Club, with whom Ealing merged.

Joao Castro

João joined England Handball in the autumn of 2020, having 10 years of experience as a professional coach working in top European clubs, in Portugal and Spain, National Teams, Women's Teams and Youth Teams. Experienced in developing performance programs for young athletes, reaching top level as handball players, and also winning several titles in Youth and Senior Teams. As Performance Coach, João has the responsibility to lead the Elite Performance Academy based at Loughborough College, alongside supporting the different Performance Pathway programmes and mentoring the coaches that worked on those activities.

John Pearce

John joined England Handball in 2013 and had undertaken several roles in his time here. In 2022 he moved into the post of National Events and Media Manager, focussing heavily on the successful organisation and delivery of England Handballs National and International Events. His current role also includes leading on all of England Handballs Media / Marketing as well as the development of our website and our social media content. Outside of John's day to day role in Handball he is the Chair of a Handball club and is a member of the GB Handball Coaching team, working specifically with the U18's.

Liz Roberts

Marc Fayemi

Marc was elected to the Board in June 2016. His professional background is banking. He is passionate about handball, growing up at a time in France when the sport began to see huge growth and success. Marc has been involved with West London Eagles (previously Ruislip Eagles) since 2005, and on the club's committee since 2008.

Matt Durber

Matt has been working within Handball for 10 years, including involvement in club Handball as well as working for England Handball in the competitions team and performance pathway. In 2020, Matt was appointed Head Coach for the Great Britain Women's U17s team and continues to lead the programme, with close links to the England Handball National Academy and Futures programmes.

Paul Shapiro

Paul was appointed to the Board in April 2018. He is a managing associate at top tier sports law specialists, Northridge. His work focuses on commercial and regulatory advice to clients in the sports sector. He regularly advises on governance issues and financial regulation in sport. His experience also includes acting for athletes, brands and rights holders on sponsorship, licensing and merchandising programmes.

Ricardo Vasconcelos

Ricardo joined EHA in 2013 and has since worked in multiple roles across all departments. Ricardo is also the Great-Britain Head Coach and an EHF Expert.As Head of Performance, Ricardo is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation and review of the England Talent Pathway including regional and national activities.

Stephen Coy
