Ana Santos RVN

Ana joined us as a student in January 2018, and qualified in the summer of 2020. She has proven to be such an invaluable member of the team that we managed to keep her on part time, although she is not as local as we would like! Ana enjoys every aspect of Veterinary Nursing and is well known for her upbeat and positive approach. She likes to spend her free time with friends, family and her cat named Gizmo, after the gremlin!

Anna Riddoch

Anna graduated from Cambridge University in 2008 and has worked in small animal practice in Cambridgeshire and North Hertfordshire since. She joined Cambridge Veterinary Group in 2016 and enjoys all areas of practice, especially feline practice, imaging and surgery. In 2019 she became a Clinical Director. Anna lives with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys walks in the countryside and gardening, plus trips to the cinema, cooking and travel.

Ashley Paul

Ashely has been our office manager since 2004 and is responsible for the smooth running of the practice. In addition to this, Ashley is also the Homing Officer for the Cambridge Cats Protection charity. She is dedicated to rescuing cats and finding suitable new owners for them and is always happy to hear from anyone interested in offering a cat a new home.

Catherine Gee RVN

Cat joined our team in 2008 as a kennel assistant where she showed a natural aptitude to animal care. She undertook her nurse training and qualified in 2011 and has since flourished in her role as a veterinary nurse. In 2013 Catherine took on the role of Deputy Head Nurse and has since become Head Nurse. Her extracurricular activities include skiing, cycling, walking, arts and crafts. She has a cat called Arthur who likes to go for walks with the family!

Catherine Tromans

Catherine studied at Middlesex University and the Royal Vet College from 2001-2005, gaining her BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing. Catherine was our first nurse to obtain a degree, starting here in 2004 and becoming Head Nurse shortly after qualifying. In 2009 she handed her Head Nurse duties over to Isla when she went on maternity leave to have her daughter. Her Veterinary interests include anesthesia and running nurse clinics, having just set up our Senior Nurse Clinics. In 2017 she also set up her own Pet Sitting/Dog walking business called Happy Paws in Ely, where she lives with her husband, two children and their two mischievous cats. She loves spending time with her family, reading, walking, cycling and doing pilates.

Claire Ross

Claire joined the practice in September 2019 having trained and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in the 80's at a Practice in Cambridge. She spent 10 years working as a nurse and then changed her career path to gain management qualifications. 2015 she moved away to work in Dorset and Wiltshire in two Veterinary Practices as a Practice Manager and Operations Manager. She then moved back to Cambridge to be with her partner. Claire has two wonderful dogs, Ruby and Bo, and has recently added 6 chickens to her family. She enjoys walking, talking to the chickens and going away on sailing trips around Greece.

Claire Welch

Claire graduated from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh in 2011 and has worked in various practices in the UK, before joining Cambridge Veterinary Group in 2023. She has always had a keen interested in the more unusual animals kept as pets and is currently working towards her post graduate certificate in exotic animal practice. Claire lives with her husband, daughter, two Vizslas, Henry and Bella and her tortoise, Tank. In her spare time, Claire enjoys baking and decorating cakes, walks in the countryside and volunteering with her local Brownie Pack.

Claire Willison RVN

Claire joins us from working at Dick White Referrals, but originally hails from Australia where she also trained. Initially Claire was an equine nurse, but then moved into the small animal discipline. For both areas she has worked in both general and referral practice. Claire also has a keen interest in wildlife medicine, and since starting with us has got involved in caring for the many hedgehogs and birds we see. She is currently focussing on exotic animal medicine which we are helping her to develop.

Emma Jarrett

Emma graduated from Cambridge in 2001 and began her career in small animal practice in Suffolk before joining CVG in 2005. She is particularly interested in radiology and ultrasound and in 2019 completed the RCVS Certificate in Advance Veterinary Practice (Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging). Emma lives with her husband, 2 daughters and cat, Tilly. She is a keen trail and fell runner, rings church bells and grows fruit and vegetables on her allotment.

George Francis

George graduated from Cambridge Vet School in 2018, and has since worked at various practices around Cambridgeshire, before doing a rotating internship, and post graduate-certificate in veterinary surgery and medicine, at Dick White Referrals. After the internship George went on to work at a specialist Clinical Pathology lab in Hitchin but missed general practice and joined CVG in March 2022. Before becoming a vet George also studied Zoology at Bristol University and worked on wildlife parks across South Africa. He has a keen clinical interest in Surgery, Internal Medicine and Dermatology, and uses his Clinical Pathology skills to supplement his knowledge in these areas. Outside of veterinary life George enjoys playing golf and looking after his little Pomeranian, Miette. He and his partner Camilla are keen cooks and are never found far from good food and a glass of wine in their spare time.

Glenda Spry

Glenda worked in a local primary school for 18 years before joining the practice in 2019. She is married with two grown-up children. She enjoys most sports but particularly likes watching and playing tennis.

Hannah Smith

Hannah joined us in September 2020, and is studying at the College of West Anglia for an Animal Care and Welfare Assistant diploma. Hannah loves to deliver the utmost care for every pet and owner as part of a friendly team. She is following a passion for animals that has always been with her, and aims to become a Veterinary Nurse one day. Hannah grew up with many pets, and currently has a dog called Archie, three rats, fish and a hamster! She likes to spend her spare time with family and friends, and also crocheting.

Helen Watts

Helen joined the practice in September 2020 but hails from Essex. She comes from a Customer Service background, working as a District Council Advisor for 17 years and at Standsted Airport checking-in and boarding flights. At home she lives with husband Nick, two boys, and their recent Dogs Trust rescue Boxer cross dog. Helen loves to cook and is really keen on health and nutrition. She regularly practices yoga and enjoys walking and cycling.

James Ireland

James graduated from Cambridge University in 2019 and has continued to live in the city ever since. After graduating, he worked in a small animal practice in Suffolk covering both routine and emergency out-of-hours referral. He has a keen interest in all areas of medicine and surgery, and enjoys the highly variable nature of small animal work. James joined Cambridge Vet Group in 2022 and is delighted to now be working in the city where he lives with his 2 cats, Pancake and Muffin.

Jessica Mancini

Jessica graduated in Bologna (Italy) in 2010. As a new graduate she worked in a busy 24hour hospital after which she moved to UK where she has worked since. Jessica has been leading teams since 2017 and her passion lies in diagnostic imaging, soft tissue surgery and intensive care. Jess ica lives with her husband and a dove, a sparrow and a rabbit, all rescued over the years. She loves trekking and hiking.

Jessica grew up on a farm in Dorset where she helped her parents care for a variety of animals. Prior to her veterinary nursing training she completed a degree in Physiological Science. Her love of physiology and anatomy, alongside her love of animals, steered her towards the veterinary industry. Jess ica qualified as a veterinary nurse in March 2021, having worked at a first opinion practice since 2017. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing and is looking forward to continuing to develop her skills. In her spare time she likes cooking, painting, hiking and reading.

Karlene Price

Karlene began her career with animals at Wood Green Animal Shelter in Heydon. She completed her veterinary nurse training in 2009 before coming to work with us at Cambridge Veterinary Group where she plays a key role within the nursing team. In 2016 Karlene gained a diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing. She is a keen interest in dentistry and medical nursing and is also one of our clinical coaches, training nurses in the practice. Karlene keeps the practice happy with her baking talents and spends much of her time outdoors with two daughters.

Lisa Davey

Lisa joined CVG in early 2022 after working at Wood Green, The Animals Charity, Heydon for over 18 years, thus bringing lots of knowledge to the team. Lisa has always loved animals from a young age and over the years has had cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. She currently has a cat called Bella and likes spending time with her family and friends.

Lynda Beach

Lynda joined the team in November 2023 having taken a year out to refurbish her new home in Cambridgeshire. She has had dogs all her life until recently when she lost her very special Labradoodle, Indie. She is looking forward to having a new puppy in the very near future. Lynda loves gardening and everything flower related, she also loves to travel and spending time at the beach.

Lynn Dean

Lynn was born in Cambridge and from an early age, was obsessed with animals. As a child, she hand-reared a vole, wood mouse, rabbits, and small birds and has since progressed to kittens for which she has a real talent. She joined our reception team in 2005 and can often be seen tending to a tiny kitten or bird in need of hand-rearing. Her passion for cats has lead her to foreign shores where she has done voluntary work for "Gambits". Lynn is now a volunteer for Cambridge Cats Protection issuing vouchers to anyone who needs financial help to neuter their cat. She always tries to help every cat that crosses her path. Lynn has 3 adult sons and 1 granddaughter who she enjoys passing on her knowledge of wildlife and pets to. As well as 11 cats!! She also shares her garden with free ranging bantams and a guinea-pig.

Mabel Ang

Mabel graduated from Cambridge University in 2012 and obtained a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Small Animal Medicine) in 2021. Since graduating, she has worked in various practices in England. She has also spent 6 months as a primatology research intern at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, USA, studying the behaviour of chimpanzees and gorillas. Mabel enjoys working with various animals - furry, feathered or scaly - and has a broad interest in many aspects of veterinary practice including diagnostic imaging, medicine, clinical reasoning, surgery, dentistry and exotics. She is currently studying towards a post-graduate certificate in Exotic Animal Practice.

Morgan moved to England from Canada in 2016 with her Irish husband. Before becoming a veterinary nurse, Morgan was a wildlife biologist helping to conserve Canada's amazing wildlife. She has a passion for cats of all sizes. When not in work she enjoys spending time with her young son and husband.

Selina Covill RVN

Selina has worked in the Veterinary industry since 2003 where she started her career as a Veterinary Nurse Assistant. She then undertook her nurse training and qualified as an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2008. In 2019 Selina took on the role of Deputy Head Nurse. Her veterinary interests include anaesthesia, surgery and running Nurse Clinics. Outside of work Selina enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, which usually involves taking their two Cocker Spaniels, Lexi and Lola, for long messy dog walks. She also loves seeing friends, ski trips and the odd child-free shopping trip!

Sheila Callaghan

Sheila is familiar with the medical world having worked in the dialysis unit at Addenbrookes Hospital. She joined Cambridge Veterinary Group in March 2016. Sheila is married with a daughter and two cats and enjoys keeping active by running, skiing and gardening.

Sheila is a true Cambridge girl, born and raised, and brought up her family here too. Prior to joining the practice in 2003 she ran the office at a local glassblowing company. She has now been at the practice for many years, and really enjoys her position. Sheila is married with two grown up children and six grandchildren, which keeps her very busy as you can imagine. She likes to sew, which she will enjoy in the summer house when the weather allows. She also enjoys baking and is known to supply the team with amazing treats. Sheila also enjoys gardening and travelling, as well as supervising her husband's hard work in the garden!

Tara Rose RVN

Tara qualified as an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in 2007 from the College Of Animal Welfare in Edinburgh, where she worked at a practice for seven years before relocating to Cambridgeshire. She then worked at a practice in Ely for a further seven years before taking a break to have her son. Tara has now returned to the veterinary profession and has been working at Cambridge Veterinary Group since May 2019. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing and has trained as a clinical coach. Outside of work Tara enjoys going on skiing holidays, socialising with friends and spending time with her husband and son.

Thomas Langran RVN

As so many of us, Thomas always had an interest in animals growing up, and he enjoys all areas of nursing, with a keen interest in surgery and anaesthesia. At home he has a cat called Gary and loves to spent time with family and friends. He loves to bake and we enjoy the proof that he ought to apply for Bake-Off! Thomas also loves to walk in the Lakes and has a keen interest in cars.

Victoria is now training with us as a Student Veterinary Nurse. In her spare time she loves to walk with her dog, Ivy the lab, as well as painting, drawing and baking.
