Amy joined the nursing team in 2018. Amy began her nursing career at a large referral, critical care hospital in Cheadle Hulme. Amy Qualified in 2013 and became part of the ophthalmology team at the hospital. She also has a strong interest in the nursing of exotic animals and completed the exotic and amphibian certificate in September 2022. Amy lives locally with her partner, son, daughter, two dogs and two cats! Amy enjoys countryside walks, seeing friends and relaxing with her family.

Dr Cristian Segura-Cortijos

Job Titles:

Cristian graduated from the University of Zaragoza in Spain in 2010 and has a particular interest in exotic, wild and zoo animals. Once qualified, he volunteered in a wildlife rescue centre in the Amazon Rainforest and in a well-renowned zoo in Peru before conducting an externship at Jersey Zoo. He has been an exotic vet in Spain, Dubai and France before he moved to the UK in 2015 where he worked in general practice as well as at a wildlife rescue center and in Dudley Zoo before joining us at Cheshire Pet. He has presented at an international conference and submitted an article for publication. He is currently working towards the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Zoo Medicine. He has a rescued one-eyed cat from Dubai called Nexus and several pet frogs.

Dr Elizabeth Bowett

Liz joined the practice in 2010 Liz graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2007, after working at a small animal clinic in Stoke on Trent for three years she moved to Cheshire Pet in 2010 and has been here ever since! She recently completed her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice and became Clinical Director in 2021. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and diagnostic imaging. She is a crazy cat mum to Raven, a little black kitten that was found in the snow, behind the bins at the Cheshire Pet work Christmas party. She also has a particular love for sighthounds and guinea pigs. In her spare time, she enjoys running, spending as much time outdoors as possible and attending a wide range of (sometimes unusual) concerts!

Dr Emily Hardacre

Emily qualified in 2003 and holds the RCVS certificate in zoological medicine, which reflects her experience when working with our avian, reptile, small furry and wildlife patients. Since qualifying she has worked in first opinion and referral exotic practice and at a local wildlife hospital. Emily has worked at Cheshire Pet since 2010 and loves working with all exotic pet and zoo species we see. When not at work she can be found cheering her 3 children on by the side of a football pitch, walking her lurcher, Ted and whippet, Brin, baking or pottering in the garden.

Dr Hope Carveth

Hope graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and has been part of the CheshirePet team since 2018. Hope enjoys all aspects of general practice but has a particular interest in dermatology. She is close to completing her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in this area, after several years extra study. She lives with her fiancé Charlie, also a vet, and very clever Toy Poodle, Beanie. Hope has a passion for wildlife and travelling. In her spare time she enjoys bird watching, hiking and exploring the countryside.

Fiona joined us as veterinary nurse back in 2001. Having worked for 12 years in a Berkshire Veterinary Hospital as nurse then Practice Manager, she relocated back home to Cheshire. Having had 2 children since her return - Matthew and Joe - she is our Practice Administrator. She has the most delightful rescue Lurcher called Dukie who often joins her at work.

Hannah Walker BVSc

Hannah joined the team in July 2017 Hannah graduated from the university of Liverpool and has worked & travelled in Australia Hannah enjoys travelling, reading & listening to music. She has a working Cocker Spaniel called Banksy who is regular visitor to the practice after eating things he shouldn't such as socks & gloves!

Jane joined the practice in 1998. She has been at the practice since day one! She qualified in 1992 & has worked in a range of practices including an orthopaedic / trauma referral centre. Jane deals more with the management side of practice these days but loves to get involved with the clinical team whenever she is needed. Jane loves walking in the peak district & lake district, live music & keeping fit. She has a rescue terrier called Walter who can be found most days lounging under the desk in the office or just generally getting up to mischief.

Jess joined our reception team in August 2022 You'll often see Jess friendly face on a Monday, Wednesday & Friday evening. In the day, Jess works in a primary school as a 1:1 support teacher. They say never work with children or animals but she does both & loves it! She lives at home with her horses & her border collie Nellie.

Kathryn is an experienced Veterinary Nurse having qualified in 2002. She is qualified in nursing exotic species. Kathryn joined the team at Cheshire Pet in Oct 2011 having worked at the RSPCA wildlife centre in Nantwich tending seals, bearded dragons, macaws, birds and swans. She also tends her own menagerie at home comprising of two rescue dogs, Moss and Minny, two rabbits, Nibbler and Boffin and a tortoise called Mr T.

Katie Meredith MCSP

Katie graduated as a Chartered Physio in 2004 working as a junior Physio at Leighton Hospital in Crewe before specialising in paediatrics at Royal Manchester Children's Hsopital and Alder Hey Children's Hospital treating a variety of complex orthopaedic, neuro, trauma, oncology and intensive care patients. In 2010 Katie completed a Masters degree at The Royal Veterinary College in London that enabled her to transfer her existing skills and experience over to veterinary medicine, and has been seeing physiotherapy patients from all over the north west at Cheshire Pet since then. Katie now spends most of her clinical time at Cheshire Pet seeing everything from guinea pigs to bernese mountain dogs and every species in between for a wide variety of conditions both on land and in Hydrotherapy. Alongside clinical work, Katie also teaches at the University of Liverpool Vet School teaching Chartered Physios on their MSc Vet Physio programme, and often has students with her at Cheshire Pet. On the rare occasion that Katie isn't working, she can be found on the beach with her 14-year-old rescue Springer Spaniel Alfie, with her 4 horses, cycling the length and breadth of the county, or singing somewhere in Knutsford with Knutsford Star Choir and Knutsford Beats!

Philippa, who lives in Alsager, joins the Cheshire Pet team with a wealth of experience, having worked as a Veterinary Receptionist for the last two years. She loves animals, and has her own menagerie at home, which includes, 1 dog, 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs and a horse called Oliver Twist! Philippa is kept busy with her pets and family, including grandson, Alfie.

Simonne Jones RVN

Simonne joined the nursing team in 2012 Simonne Qualified in 2010 & has a wide range of roles at CheshirePet. She is our clinical coach, supervising our student veterinary nurses with their practical training. She loves working with the exotic patients & even has her own chameleon Yoshi at home! Simonne also loves cats & is the CheshirePet cat advocate. She will be happy to help with any feline queries you may have. In 2018 Simonne passed her Oral Health Certificate & enjoys helping with the dental procedures which includes scaling & polishing teeth & taking dental radiographs. She is also our Pet Health Club champion so will help with any queries regarding the Pet Health club membership. Simonne lives with husband Andy, son Kody and daughter Phoebe. She has five cats Tinkerbelle. Phoenix, Pixie, Dusty & Misty the Maine Coon. She enjoys singing, socialising with friends & travelling.
