Andrew Thompson

Andrew heads up our Cambridge office and has 25 years experience in the construction industry, particularly working with local authorities, education institutions, consultants, contractors and project managers in both design and build and traditionally procured projects. Andrew is involved with complex, multi-phased redevelopments within the Education, Commercial and Leisure Sectors leading the client teams, managing the build processes and the contract management across multiple live sites. With his solid and well-grounded leadership skills, Andrew's career has been built around forming strong relationships with clients and consultant teams. He typically provides a "Lead Consultant" role to projects, bringing clear and confident direction with his knowledge and experience of both design and construction. Outside work Andrew greatly enjoys time with his family and living in Suffolk he enjoys exploring all that the Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines have to offer - particular favourites being Aldeburgh, Walberswick, Southwold, and Blakeney. He has a strong creative background, having been involved in live music from an early age, and has had the opportunity to tour with a number of local bands, playing festivals in Europe, recording albums and performing on both radio and television. Life is busy, but when he finds a spare moment he can often still be found immersed in music somewhere!

Carl Johnson

Carl a RICS qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor who provides expert advice on construction costs including life cycle costings, cost planning, procurement and tendering, contract administration and commercial management. He is also a member of The Association of Project Safety (APS) and TechIOSH and is able to provide CDM Consultancy services to assist clients with their requirement to comply with their duties under CDM Regulations 2015 and ensure Chaplin Farrant fulfills it's role of Principle Designer. Carl has worked across many sectors and has extensive experience in commercial and residential developments.

Darren Gleave

Darren graduated in Architecture and Environment Design 11 years ago and joined Chaplin Farrant in 2014. He has a sound knowledge and background in residential projects and is used to dealing with schemes from inception to completion. Darren is involved in developing our residential sector and predominantly involved with developing good business relationships with our Housing Partners.

Gitte Kjeldsen Highland

Gitte specialises in the healthcare sector with projects ranging from extensions to multi-million pound new build projects and also provides space planning and project management services to the NHS. This technical knowledge and skill set has also enabled Chaplin Farrant to become an expert in veterinary specialist centers. Having qualified in her home country of Denmark, her background is in the delivery of large complex commercial projects, including airport design. She is a qualified Prince 2 project manager. Gitte joined Chaplin Farrant in 2004, became an Associate in 2006 and a Director in 2017.

Jerene Irwin

Jerene specialises in large commercial projects including industrial, office and retail developments, delivering high quality schemes for major developers. She also has extensive experience in education, the public sector and community projects, from internal refurbishments to multi-million-pound college redevelopment programmes and long-term master plans. Jerene joined Chaplin Farrant in 2007 progressing to Associate in 2014 and became an Director in 2018. She has attained a Prince 2 project management qualification and is currently the President of the Norfolk Association of Architects, the Norfolk branch of the RIBA.

Mark Camidge

Mark has led the delivery of major public sector framework projects for Norfolk Constabulary since 2004 and currently also specialises in sport and leisure projects working with Sport England, the Football Association and locally, the Community Sports Foundation. Having worked for practices in Leeds and York, on relocating to Norfolk, he joined Chaplin Farrant in 2001 and has been a Director since 2007. Mark is a keen sportsman and currently coaches a youth football team, he is also involved with the Norwich branch of Interact, a national forum for professionals in the construction and property industry.

Mark Nolan - Managing Director

Mark specialises in large scale residential master planning schemes, regularly in excess of 200 homes and up to 1000 units, for major house builders and private developers across the eastern region. His background is in large industrial, commercial and retail developments and masterplans throughout the UK. He has worked for large practices both in Germany and in the UK before joining Chaplin Farrant in 2000 and becoming Managing Director in 2014.

Martin Lewis

Martin leads on design led residential developments for private developers on small to mid-size sites that focus on bespoke solutions. He also specialises in office to residential conversions and the refurbishment of listed building projects where his technical knowledge is invaluable. His previous experience includes infrastructure design and large commercial office and retail developments. Martin is a qualified Domestic on Construction Energy Assessor (DOCEA) and sits on the CIAT (Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists) membership group. He joined Chaplin Farrant in 2001, progressed to Associate in 2009 and became a Director in 2017.

Michelle Chambers

Michelle brings a wealth of experience in the construction industry and delivers in business development and the bid and marketing strategy, supporting the Directors in driving business growth across East Anglia and the South East. She is actively involved in raising the company profile and establishing and maintaining business relationships and strategic partnerships. Regularly attending conferences and networking events, managing social media accounts, preparation of bids, marketing, website management, writing case studies, and organising events. Michelle is an active committee member for the Norfolk Constructing Excellence Club, a club which is committed to improving the business performance of its members by focusing on innovation and best practice through collaborative working and supply chain management. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys badminton, table tennis, running and a bit of paddle boarding.

As Project Architect, he is involved with schemes from inception to completion. Stuart is involved with developing good business relationships with both clients and consultant teams in the commercial sector. Outside of work Stuart is a very keen sportsman and very interested in keeping his hand in at home on self-build projects.
