I am originally from South Africa having immigrated to the UK in 2018. In South Africa I worked in the industrial services sector as a Development Manager which taught me to work in a fast paced operations environment, where I learnt how to manage and develop teams and infrastructure to optimise efficiency and service to our clients. This experience has been particularly valuable for my roles in care. I joined Oxford Aunts in March 2018 as a carer having previously worked in domiciliary care. Having undertaken comprehensive training and with the support of the management team, I was given the opportunity to become a Care Assessor. I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to provide high levels of support to our clients, their families and our carers that has really made a difference. I get great satisfaction from the feedback we receive from clients about the service we provide, which enables them to continue to live well in the home they love. As a Care Assessor at Oxford Aunts, I am responsible for ensuring our clients can live well in their own homes with care and support from our live-in carer, whilst providing both the client, their families and our carers any support they may need. From the initial assessment of a client's needs to the on-going review of our service, I provide high levels of support to ensure the standards of care Oxford Aunts are renowned for. I have achieved certifications in People Management from the University of Cape Town and am a qualified Yoga Instructor, Aromatherapist and Reflexologist.

I started my career in reablement care working as an occupational therapy assistant and a care co-ordinator in the community. I then worked for seven years in domiciliary care as a Registered Manager. I joined Oxford Aunts in May 2016 as a Care Manager and have thoroughly enjoyed understanding what a difference live-in care can make to an individual's quality of life and seeing the positive outcomes it can deliver through continuity of care. When you meet a client who feels their only option is to go into a care home, who is then able to receive a one-to-one personalised service from Oxford Aunts and thrive in the own home, it is overwhelmingly satisfying. Being part of a team that enables our clients to live as independently as possible is such a privilege. As Care Manager at Oxford Aunts, I am responsible for ensuring our clients and their families have a dedicated point of contact who truly understands their requirements and can support their service. I have a deep understanding of our carers, not just in terms of their skills and experience, but their personalities and values. This means I can effectively match our carers with clients to ensure, not just their care needs are met but that the carer is aligned to how the client wishes to live their life. I work closely with our Care Assessor which means our clients have a highly personalised care plan that accurately reflect their needs. As part of our multidisciplinary approach to care I work closely with other healthcare professionals, including district nurses, physiotherapist and occupational therapists to ensure a holistic approach to care delivery. As a Registered Manager, I have an NVQ Level 4 and LMC Award and am now completing my Care Leadership & Management Level 5 Diploma.

I started my career as a nurse having qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1987. For seven years I was a Practice Nurse at a GP practice before I started my family. When I returned to work, I decided to become a carer working for a domiciliary care agency providing hourly care to older people, where I progressed my career and became a Care Manager. I joined Oxford Aunts in 2019 and whilst my previous care role gave me good experience, I am thrilled to be working for a provider that offers quality live-in care, that truly enhances the lives of its clients. I am originally from New Zealand, where I started my career in a hospital setting where I was a Senior Care Assistant in a Specialist Dementia Care Unit. I decided to come to the UK to develop my career further in care, whilst spending time with my grandparents. I joined Oxford Aunts in November 2015 as a live-in carer. Having researched a number of live-in care providers to potentially work for, Oxford Aunts was the stand- out choice given its reputation for providing high-quality care in Oxfordshire. I have been supported by the team in my role and afforded an opportunity to develop my career and I am now a Care Assessor. I feel privileged to support people to live safely and happily in the comfort of their own home, with all the benefits that brings. I am proud to be part of the Oxford Aunts team, who have the welfare of their clients at heart. As a Care Assessor at Oxford Aunts, I am responsible for ensuring our clients can live well in their own homes with care and support from our live-in carer, whilst providing both the client, their families and our carers any support they may need. I have an NZQA National Certificate in the Support of the Older Person.
