Our mission is to improve health through cross-disciplinary research to understand shared mechanisms of disease and to accelerate the transition from scientific discovery to clinical care... As well as excellence in research, we strive for excellence in teaching - we deliver a significant part of the clinical student curriculum and have approximately 140 postgraduate research students... We are a multi-site division, with our administrative base, together with laboratories for molecular and cellular studies, in the West Wing of the John Radcliffe Hospital. Our clinical research is currently largely focused around the Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR) and a dedicated Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility (CCRF). We also host the Oxford Acute Multidisciplinary Imaging and Interventional Centre (AMIIC).
