Our work is categorised under three overarching and interlinked areas - addressing the past, effective service provision, and building towards a better and more reconciled future... The Commission was established in May 2008. We were formed under the Victims and Survivors Act (Northern Ireland) 2008, which amended the earlier Victims and Survivors (Northern Ireland) Order 2006... We are a Non-departmental Public Body (NDPB) of The Executive Office. This means we are an extension of our devolved government, but are largely independent.
