Firle Cricket Club now plays in the Sussex Cricket League, joining in 2007, but it originally started its competitive life in the Cuckmere Valley League, which the club first won in 1924 before taking the title another 18 times, including the glory years of 1988 to 1999 where Firle were champions 9 times in 12 seasons... The club now has one Saturday XI, which will be playing in the Sussex League Division 7 East in the 2023 season. We have a Sunday XI playing every week, plus we have a Mid-Week XI playing T20 evening matches throughout the season. We also have a team in the Sussex Slam competition, the Spice Firles... Our ground, sited within the historic Firle Place country estate, is said to be one of the most picturesque grounds in England, with a rustic pavilion, huge oak trees and an excellent country pub nearby. We are located just off the A27 approximately 4 miles east of Lewes.
