As Exploration Manager, Cody Boynton plans, manages, and coordinates all geotechnical and environmental drilling operations for the Overland Park, Kansas office. Cody is very knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of Geotechnology Exploration's extensive fleet of drill rigs and support equipment. He is also responsible for assigning appropriate equipment and manpower for projects to ensure safe and timely completion. Additionally, Cody prepares cost estimates and proposals.

Ed Alizadeh, P.E., J.D., is CEO of Geotechnology. He is responsible for setting the direction for the firm, being a leader within the firm and the community and management of the firm's administrative operations. His technical background includes extensive experience in environmental consulting. He has managed and consulted on major projects such as the expansion of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. This project involved the assessment of over 1700 homes and 50 businesses that were displaced.
Ed is heavily involved in furthering the engineering profession and helping charitable causes in our community. Mr. Alizadeh is currently Vice-Chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) which is the national organization representing the business interests of engineering firms. Ed has also served as Chairman of ACECMo from July 2011-June 2012, concluding 8 years on the board of directors. Ed is a member of the Engineer's Club of St. Louis and the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. He was recognized as the Engineer of the Year in Private Practice by MSPE St. Louis Chapter in 2013.
Mr. Alizadeh has also been very active in the Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA). GBA is a national organization representing the business interests of the geotechnical and environmental consulting industry. Furthermore, Ed served as the first St. Louis-based president of GBA from April 2008-March 2009.
Ed is a strong believer in giving back to his community. Mr. Alizadeh is currently on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity St. Louis and Pedal the Cause which raises millions of dollars for cancer research. Additionally, he is involved with Kids In the Middle Charity where he was selected as 2016 Champion of Kids Award Winner. Kids in the Middle is a St. Louis-based charity that provides counseling services for children and parents whose families are going through transition primarily due to divorce. Moreover, Ed served on the Board of Directors for Kids in the Middle for seven years including over two years as the President.

Jason Smith is responsible for the daily scheduling of the crews, our full-time mechanic, ordering of materials and supplies, and coordinating all other drilling department operations. Jason manages the operation of the Kentucky and Ohio rigs. There are currently six daily drill crews running out of the Erlanger, Kentucky office.

Jen Kunz serves as Regional Director of Business Development for our East Region offices. As such, Jen has close ties with clients in every market sector Geotechnology serves. Ms. Kunz will be based in our Cincinnati, Ohio branch and brings to her new position more than 20 years of experience as a marketing and business development leader in the design and construction industry in the greater Cincinnati region.
A lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Ms. Kunz earned a master degree in business administration (MBA) from Thomas More University in Crestview Hills, Kentucky, as well as several undergraduate degrees from Wilmington College (Wilmington, Ohio) and the University of Cincinnati. She is an active volunteer with numerous community and professional organizations, including CREW Greater Cincinnati, where she serves as Chair of the Special Events Committee and was named "CREW Member of the Year" in 2020 by the organization's members.
Jim Howe is Geotechnology's Exploration President. He oversees all exploration services throughout the company to ensure personnel and resources are being utilized in ways that promote safety, and benefit clients and their projects. He has been a vital Geotechnology team member for more than 30 years, and integral in building the company's drilling division into a renowned industry leader.

Joe Darmody has been with Geotechnology since 2006. He has held a number of positions including Environmental Group Manager and Corporate Health and Safety Officer. As Geotechnology's Corporate Risk Manager, Joe is responsible for the overall corporate health and safety programs. He also oversees safety training for Geotechnology's 280-plus employees.

Joel Weinhold is the Central Regional Manager, directing the activities of a Regional office, managing projects, and assumes responsibility in the name of the Company for the professional quality of work performed by the Region. Mr. Weinhold provides strategic leadership, day-to-day project oversight and management supervision, ensuring good office management, and professional services delivered, following Geotechnology's core values, methodology, policies and practices.

John Bostwick manages the training of employees in the areas of safety, innovation and drilling expertise. His contributions lead to improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness for clients. Additionally, John's skills and commitment to Geotechnology have been rewarded with various promotions. Most recently, he's been promoted to drilling division manager and corporate shareholder.
John Henson, P.G. is the South Regional Manager, directing the activities of a Regional office, managing projects, and assumes responsibility in the name of the Company for the professional quality of work performed by the Region. Mr. Henson provides strategic leadership, day-to-day project oversight and management supervision, ensuring good office management, and professional services delivered, following Geotechnology's core values, methodology, policies and practices.

Justin Donovan manages construction materials testing (CMT) and non-destructive testing operations and staff for the Geotechnology, Inc. South Region, specifically Tennessee and Mississippi. He oversees a technical staff of more than 14 field representatives. In addition, he performs various field engineering tests and observations. These tasks include verifying the bearing capacity of shallow foundations, reinforcing steel verifications, deep foundation installation monitoring, and static pile load tests.

As Marketing Manager, Kelly is responsible for coordinating corporate marketing team efforts for RFQ and RFP submittals, branch management, marketing materials for corporate and branch offices, and website coordination for both the public and internal websites. Ms. Townsend also oversees advertising and public relations, external communications via GeoBlast, internal communications via GeoGram, and trade show booth design, presentations, and coordination.
Kelly has been in the A/E/C industry for roughly ten years, having previously been Marketing Administrator of Geotechnology. She obtained Bachelor of Arts degrees from both Lambuth University and the University of Memphis.

Luke Heuerman manages all day-to-day activities for Geotechnology's Construction Materials Testing, Special Inspections and Soils Laboratory services for the St. Louis, Missouri and Fairview Heights, Illinois offices.

Kevin Weaver is the Branch Manager for our Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio offices. He is also the Construction Materials Testing/Special Inspections (CMT/SI) Group Manager for the firm's East Region. His primary responsibilities include directing the operational, administrative and financial tasks for the group, including business development, overseeing the technical aspects of pursuits and projects, providing technical guidance to the staff, implementing uniform processes at all locations and increasing versatility for service lines and employees.
Mr. Weaver's extensive experience has helped him develop a vast knowledge of his field. His specialties include the performance of slope stability analyses, settlement analyses, foundation analyses and design, footing, drilled shaft, driven and augercast pile and anchor tieback installation reviews.
Kevin also has experience with structural masonry, structural steel bolted and welded connections review, fireproofing testing, reinforced concrete, review of paint coating thicknesses, and concrete relative humidity and moisture emissions testing.
Mr. Weaver is a civil and environmental engineering graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He began his career with Thelen Associates, Inc. in 1995 as a co-op student. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. In addition, he is a Certified Welding Inspector (AWS) and National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) Inspecting Engineer.
Kevin has been instrumental through the years in the development of policies and procedures in his area of responsibility. Additionally, he is a recognized leader in the field of Special Inspections. Over the course of his career, he has worked on projects for General Electric, Paul Brown Stadium, and multiple projects within downtown Cincinnati that have aided in the city's revitalization.
Kevin has been and continues to be the Project Manager for the numerous projects across Cincinnati. These project sites include the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, and Miami University at the Oxford, Ohio campus. His technical and managerial experience are a benefit to both our clients and our staff.

Robin Wood serves as the Human Resources Director. She joins us with over 20 years of HR Management and HR administration experience. Robin is an enthusiastic leader who is committed to empowering employees to help advance their careers and to achieve company goals. She will be a great addition to our Region's employees, including the management team and our outstanding HR professionals.
Robin earned her BA in Behavioral Sciences and Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Robin serves on the Board of Directors for SHRM St. Louis, the local HR chapter. She also holds her Senior Human Resources Professional certification (SHRM-SCP).
