Faye MacLean

Faye graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in English Literature and Gaelic. After working for the BBC, she joined Caledonia TV in 2002 as a researcher, rising to become producer of three series of Tìr is Teanga, the popular hillwalking series for BBC Scotland. Faye has now worked on the full range of Caledonia output - Gaelic, Scottish and UK network. She runs our BBC Alba volume deal of factual entertainment series and documentaries. She has worked at network level on Children's, Education and Documentaries for Five, Channel 4 and ITV. Her first network series as producer was the 13-part observational documentary series for Channel Five, Ov er the Sea to School and one of her productions, My Husband's Gay for ITV, has sold to almost every international territory. Faye produced From Syria to Scotland for BBC One's Our Lives strand and directed Boots and Beards for the same strand.

Julie McCrone

Julie graduated with a degree in history from Strathclyde University in 2001 and started work as a researcher for Caledonia TV later that year on a 13 part series The Real Tartan Army. Since then she has worked on network series for Channel 4 (Teens on Trial) and Five (Over the Sea to School) as AP. She has produced a number of documentaries for BBC Scotland - Creating the Kelpies, The Man Who Built Britain and The Adventures of Don Roberto. Julie is now producing and directing many of our BBC Alba productions and this year directs her first network programme - Darts Dreams for BBC1's Our Lives strand.

Les Wilson

Les is co-author with Seona Robertson of the book Scotland's War. He has also published a novel Fire in the Head and several history books - Islay Voices, The Drowned and the Saved : how war came to the Hebrides (winner of the Saltire History Award) and Putting the Tea in Britain : How Scots invented our national drink.

Ramsay MacMahon

Ramsay graduated from St Andrews University before completing the Television Course at Sabhal Mor Ostaig in Skye and coming to Caledonia TV on work placement. Ramsay then joined Caledonia as a researcher and graduated to AP working on our BBC Alba volume deal. Since then, Ramsay has directed documentaries Bho Mhinistear gu Modaratair, following Rev Dr Angus Morrison's year as moderator of the Church of Scotland and Sàr-Sgeòil: Outlander on Scotland's impact on the world famous novel. He has produced and directed the long running baking series Fuine and documentary series Na Millenni-Gaels on young Gaelic speakers. He has now graduated to presenting five series of the popular Mach à Seo. He is currently producing The Trick Pony Team for BBC 1.

Robyn Low

Robyn studied Gaelic at Aberdeen University then went on to complete the Diploma in TV at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. She joined the company as a trainee but has becomes a highly valued member of the team, researching and setting up many of our productions. Robyn has now graduated from AP to director on her first series of Mach A Seo.

Sajid Quayum

Sajid joined Caledonia as a trainee PA in 2002 and rose through the ranks to become Head of Production and a company director. Following a science degree and involvement in community Asian radio Sajid decided on a broadcast career. As HOP, Sajid is the overall manager of our productions and BBC Alba volume deal, our staff base and business affairs. He has grown his experience through international co-production challenges - from negotiation through contracting to delivery in different versions, languages and formats. Sajid keeps abreast of new technology and acquires and runs all our capital investment in equipment. Sajid has also contributed to ideas development. His contacts and ideas have now made us the Go To company for Scots Asian ideas with 4 commissions for the BBC as a result - Young Asian and Scots, From Syria to Scotland and Boots and Beards. Sajid has made presentations to the Scottish Parliament about the media industry and appeared on BBC2's Newsnight on Muslim issues. He is Caledonia's representative on Scotland's TV Working Group.

Seona Robertson

A BAFTA and Celtic Media Festival award winning producer, she made the first documentary series shown on Channel 4, Pleasure Palaces, through her first independent company Reality Productions. A former mediaeval historian and specialist in archive-based history programmes, she founded the North West Film Archive in Manchester and moved to TV to work for Granada Television on Camera, a major international series on the history of film and photography. For Scottish Television, she produced various historical series - such as the 30 part Scotland's War - and Runrig, a multi film camera rock concert, which won BAFTA Scotland Best Arts Film and the Celtic Media Festival "Spirit of the Festival" award. After founding Caledonia TV with Les Wilson in 1992, she produced much of the company's output - across all five terrestrial broadcasters, digital channels and internationally - and has been MD since 2002. She is now executive producer for the company with Les Wilson and Richard Melman. She directs the development department in expanding Caledonia TV's local and network programming and has a special focus on the company's international and co-production business. She was a board member of the Scottish Film Council and, with Les Wilson, she is co author of the book of the series Scotland's War.
