USMANI MOSQUE

It all started with a few brothers who wanted to have a Sunni mosque in the Evington area; initially we bought a site on Shipley Road off Chesterfield Road but then decided that there were already two Sunni mosques nearby i.e. Masjid-e-Bilal and Sutherland Street mosque... From there we decided to have a mosque in the North Evington area and most importantly there were no Sunni mosque in that areas also there were no empty lands either to build a mosque on.We decided to take a step back and wait for the right property to come on the market so that we can convert the building into a mosque, but there was an urgent need of a mosque in this area... Muaaz bin Jabal (RA) narrated that Rasool Allah (SAW) said, "The people of Jannat will only regret that moment which had been empty of Zikr of Allah." (Beheqi)
