Alan Anderson

Alan completed a 4-year degree course (1989-1993) in Building Engineering Management before gaining diverse sector-wide experience in construction, including social housing, schools, leisure centres and health centres. Over a 30-year career, Alan has enjoyed various positions within the company and now, as construction manager, is responsible for the smooth running of multiple Co-op projects and overseeing their respective site managers throughout Scotland and the north of England. Having his entire focus on one client allows Alan to offer Co-op tailored services, concentrating solely on their unique requirements. Alan attributes much of his strong work ethic, tenacity and drive to the original training provided by this family business at the very start of his career. He believes that Dickie & Moore's personal service, willingness to confront issues head on, and inherent attitude of continual improvement company wide, set them apart.

Andy Telfer

Andy brings with him over 25 years of management experience with a background in multi-disciplined environments. Typically involving large retail, healthcare, education and commercial projects including local authority packages. Andy's main role is the management of multiple projects and contractors including CO-OP new spaces and re-fit projects throughout the South of Scotland and the North of England. He manages projects from early scoping, planning and programming through to completion and end of year defects. Andy has a strong ability in increasing production by motivating groups and individuals to achieve challenging goals. He is highly organised and creative in high-pressure situations.

David Meek

David holds a BSC in Quantity Surveying following 5 years part-time study. With over 30 years in the construction industry, David has extensive experience in many sectors including retail, industrial, commercial, housing, education and health David is Responsible for the financial viability of construction projects and ensuring that projected/incurred costs are as forecast and that anticipated values are preserved. He is also responsible for providing and maintaining cost certainty for the client through the monitoring of variations for the duration of the project. He is currently responsible for various retail extensions and fit-out projects for Lidl Uk & Co-Op and upgrading works for Chivas Brothers Ltd across their distillery estate. David has the experience and flexibility to carry out the required tasks regardless of the sector, client or location.

John Dickie

John graduated from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with a BSc in Quantity Surveying, enjoying 2 years in private practice before joining the family business as a surveyor, progressing to site manager, technical manager and finally to director. Having the same attitudes and aspirations as his brother, managing director William, has been invaluable, providing the company with a great strength, credibility and integrity. The supportive culture within the business encourages collective effort, with every voice being heard. John believes that building relationships and ‘getting it right first time' are the keys to good business, with every Dickie & Moore client shown the same level of commitment, investment and service from the very start.

John Hartley

John studied Joinery & Advanced Joinery (1987 - 1990) with City and Guilds for 4 years whilst working in housing construction with a private developer. He then went on to join a shopfitting contractor working on a wide range of projects from retail stores, bars and restaurants to leisure centres and gyms. He brings with him over 33 years of experience and now as a Construction Manager for Dickie and Moore, John has enjoyed working on various positions within the company. John is involved in the smooth running of multiple Asda canteen projects and overseeing their respective site managers throughout Scotland on a tight rollout plan. He is also involved in the smooth running of multiple Co-op projects overseeing their respective site managers in Scotland having worked with both clients concentrating solely on their unique requirements. John brings with him an excellent knowledge of the industry, key pre-construction contacts as well as an excellent ability in communicating all project key drivers.

Karen Marshall

A CIMA-qualified accountant, Karen oversees the finances of all three companies within the Dickie & Moore Group. Together with her team of four, Karen spends her day scrutinising and reporting figures to ensure that members of the board always have a clear, up to the minute overview of the company's financial status. This helps to ensure that projects are completed not only on time, but also within budget. As well as budgeting and forecasting, Karen is also responsible for the installation and on-going development of the company's internal financial software system. This system allows the team to assess what they are doing well and to highlight areas for potential improvement. Karen is motivated by the fact that Dickie & Moore are constantly looking to find ways of doing things more efficiently and cost effectively, for the benefit of both the company and their clients.

Lucy Clarke

Lucy holds a Bsc Hons degree in quantity surveying (2003-2008) supplemented with an NVQ level 4 in quantity surveying (2011). Lucy gained these qualifications through part-time learning whilst working within the industry, giving her excellent theory and practical skills at the very beginning of her career. She has diverse sector experience which includes working on large scale construction projects in leisure, health, education & retail sectors as well as new build housing and social housing development schemes. Her role involves full commercial management of key clients from pre-construction through to completion. Lucy is a strong and valued member of the team with a non-confrontational approach and can-do attitude to all aspects of the scheme to ensure successful outcomes. Lucy is able to build sound relationships with all members of the construction and design team but more particularly the Client's representatives. Furthermore, lucy is a construction ambassador and actively gets involved in activities within schools and colleges to promote the construction industry as well as women in construction.

Mark Hall

After qualifying in Civil Engineering, Mark gained vast knowledge and experience across the industry including in the areas of commerce, retail and education. As construction manager at Dickie & Moore, his experience and flexibility make him invaluable to the team. Mark's daily focus is on the fit-out of stores and refurbishment of existing spaces. He oversees site managers, their own tradesmen and sub contractors to ensure that programmes are fulfilled, and that quality and health and safety standards are maintained. A self-proclaimed perfectionist, Mark believes that this trait makes him a great asset of the company, and that his respect for clients, his attention to their requirements, and his determination to deliver, ensure that Dickie & Moore provide exactly what is demanded of them.

Matthew Wright

With a background civil engineering, Matthew joined Dickie & Moore in 2007 as a site engineer, moving up to site manager, development manager and construction project manager before reaching his current position of construction director. From environmental issues to budget control and man management, Matthew is responsible for maintaining the very highest standards across every aspect of construction activity on Dickie & Moore's live sites throughout Scotland and the north of England. Matthew believes honesty, proactivity and flexibility are crucial to Dickie & Moore's success, and that it is their reputation as ‘problem solvers' that gives clients the confidence and reassurance that the company will deliver exactly what they promise every time.

Ralph Caulfield - Retail Director

Ralph began his career with Dickie & Moore as a trainee quantity surveyor, working his way up to quantity surveyor and account manager before reaching his current position as retail director. Working closely with the other four directors, he heads the retail arm of the company and is responsible for providing a comprehensive turnkey service for an impressive range of leading brands and blue chip companies including Co-op, Lidl and PureGym. Ralph believes there can be no exact definition of his title as, from tendering to building control issues, the demands placed of him and his team change on a daily basis. To him, flexibility is a key asset of the Dickie & Moore offering, allowing them to adapt quickly and efficiently to suit individual customers.

Raymond Burns SHEQ

Raymond has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience within Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality management at both SHEQ Manager and SHEQ Advisor roles across a very diverse portfolio of construction projects. At Dickie and Moore, Raymond is the SHEQ Manager and he is responsible for all Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality matters across all projects and divisions, he will work closely with directors & senior managers, project teams and clients to ensure consistency in our health and safety approach, and ensuring high standards are being delivered and maintained. He will also be responsible for the identification of improvements within the company to streamline what we do and to drive efficiency and continual improvement. With over 30 years of experience, Raymond brings a unique insight and perspective to projects where he can fully understand the challenges that arise and can use his skills to work with the project teams to assist delivery and overcome problems while still maintaining the expected standards for Health & safety management.

William Dickie - Managing Director
