Emma Duncomb

Job Titles:
  • Operations Manager
Emma qualified as a social worker in 2001 after studying at Leicester University. She has been part of Adults Supporting Adults (ASA) since 2011, joining the team as an Area Manager before being promoted to Operations Manager in 2016. Prior to joining ASA Emma worked as for the Local Authority in adult services for people with Learning Disabilities, she served 16 years with the Local Authority enjoyed varied roles.When not at work she can often be found at the side of a rugby pitch or netball court cheering her children on. Emma loves the countryside and likes nothing better than taking a nice long walk with her dogs.

Emma Hernon

Job Titles:
  • Practice Supervisor
Emma has been part of the ASA Team since we were formed as a not for profit charity in 2007. Emma started with ASA as an clerical assistant and has since gone on to be the organisation's finance administrator before recently branching into the practice side of ASA in 2019. When not at work, Emma enjoys running, baking and photography.

Georgia Tallent

Job Titles:
  • Practice Apprentice
Georgia has recently joined the team as an apprentice in 2019, prior to this Georgia completed her Level 2 in Health and Social Care at sixth form. Georgia is going on to complete her Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. When not at work, Georgia enjoys spending quality time with friends and exploring different cuisines.

Howard Sanders

Job Titles:

Howard is a qualified human relations professional who retired in 2010. He started his career in the printing industry in Nottingham and after a brief spell in careers advice with Notts County Council, he moved to Raleigh Industries and then on to the textile industry. He joined Padley's, the Lincolnshire based food processing company, in 1977 where he became Personnel Director. For the last 9 years of his career he was HR Director at Duncan & Toplis chartered accountants. He sits on employment tribunals as a lay member and is a group leader with the Sleaford Talking Newspaper for the blind. His interests are mainly sport and his family.

Keith Phillips - Chairman

Job Titles:

Keith our Chair is a Chartered Accountant and a partner of Duncan & Toplis Chartered Accountants with a wealth of knowledge in business and finance. As well as being Chair of Adults Supporting Adults, Keith enjoys skiing and music quizzes and is a governor of both St Hugh's and St Andrews schools together with being a past chair of the Round Table.

Niall Armstrong

Job Titles:

Together with being a director of Adults Supporting Adults Niall is a part time DJ, qualified Ham Radio and frustrated car mechanic.

Nigel Dickens

Job Titles:
  • Director
Nigel has had a long and varied career in social work. He worked for three London boroughs before returning to his home county of Lincolnshire where he specialised in mental health, learning disability and work with older people. He then worked as an independent social worker before retirement. Nigel's wife describes him as a "sports obsessive". He is particularly interested in football, cricket and rugby and is still an active runner. Nigel finds it hard to accept that he cannot get anywhere close to his race times of thirty years ago!

Nigel Horner

Nigel is Deputy Head of the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Lincoln following a career in social work in various child care and mental health settings, cumulating as a Training Officer and working in service policy for Lincolnshire County Council. Together with being a director of Adults Supporting Adults Nigel is the author of What is Social Work? (2009, 3rd edition), of Social Work in Education and Children's Services (2006) and co-editor of The Value Base of Social Work and Social Care (2008).

Olivia Armstrong

I studied Psychology with Forensic Psychology at bachelors degree level at the University of Lincoln and continued my studies to masters level, studying Forensic Psychology. My professional background is working with individuals who have alcohol and/or substance misuse issues and I thoroughly enjoy this work. In my spare time I enjoy running and reading.

Pam Railton

  • Founder of Adult Placement
Pam is the original founder of Adult Placement services in Lincolnshire as an alternative to continued institutionalised living and following a long career in social work is now retired. Together with being a director of Adults Supporting Adults, Pam enjoys travelling and in particular visiting her holiday home in France away from the cold and rain of the UK.

Sharon Dickinson

Job Titles:
  • Practice & Training Manager
Sharon qualified as a Social Worker in 1994 after studying at Nottingham Trent University. Sharon has been a part of Adults Supporting Adults since 2017 joining the team originally as an Area Manager. Prior to this, Sharon spent 15 years working as a Social Worker in Mental Health services and in Registered Manager posts for Lincolnshire County Council care homes. Sharon qualified as a teacher 10 years ago and has spent time working in colleges and pupil referral units. When not at work, Sharon enjoys going on long walks with her dog, reading and spending quality time with her family.

Stephen Johnson - Managing Director

Stephen began work as a credit controller with a medium sized wholesaler. After passing an MBA in Finance and qualifying as an accountant Stephen has worked in industry for a number of years before joining Adults Supporting Adults in 2007. Stephen enjoys mountain biking, playing guitar badly and reading.
