Dr Alexandra Vaughan

Dr Vaughan graduated from Cardiff University in 2015. Following graduation, she completed her foundation training in numerous Birmingham Hospitals. She joined the Practice as a GP Registrar in August 2020 and took on a salaried post after qualifying in 2021. She became a partner in November 2022. Dr Vaughan enjoys all aspects of General Practice but has a special interest in child health and safeguarding. She is also a final year medical student tutor for the University of Birmingham. When not at work, she enjoys running, cycling, and dog walking. Dr Vaughan works Monday - Thursday.

Dr Alison Moseley

Dr Moseley moved from Staffordshire where she grew up to study medicine at The University of Birmingham. Following graduation she went straight into foundation posts locally at The Alexandra Hospital, Redditch and Worcester Royal Hospital. She then became a GP trainee in North Worcestershire and upon completion of her training took on salaried post at The Dow Surgery in 2016. She became a partner in May 2019. Dr Moseley is passionate about teaching and has been involved with medical students, foundation doctors and registrars since joining the practice. She is now an experienced GP trainer. She also teaches second year medical student from the University of Birmingham. She wants to try and inspire the next generation of doctors and GPs When not at work Dr Moseley enjoys trips to the gym, going to music concerts and hiking with her dog. Dr Moseley works Monday through to Wednesday each week and alternate Thursdays.

Dr Amy Howell

Amy undertook her medical training at University College London where she also gained a BSc in clinical genetics. After graduation she worked at the Whittington Hospital in London. She then undertook a general medical rotation at University Hospital Bath followed by a post in clinical Oncology at the Royal Shrewsbury hospital before moving into general practice. She has been at the Dow surgery since 2004 and became a partner at the Dow Surgery in 2010 where she has taken the lead for family planning and women's health. She is also involved with teaching newly qualified doctors at the surgery. She works on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr Darren R Hudson

Darren Hudson was brought up in Hollywood, Birmingham prior to studying Medicine at Manchester University, graduating in 1989. He spent his house officer year at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch and then moved to Pembrokeshire to undertake GP training. On completing his training he worked as a GP in Pembroke for 8 years. In May 2002 he moved back to the Midlands to become a partner at The Dow Surgery. His professional interests include Diabetes, Medicines Management and GP Registrar and Medical Student training. He is married with 2 grown up children. His outside interests include playing football, watching his beloved West Brom, trips to the cinema and visiting National Trust properties. He is also an active member of his local church.

Dr Helen M Boon

Dr Helen Boon was born and brought up in Liverpool before moving to London to study medicine at St. Bartholomew's Hospital. Following five years of training there she spent six months as a House Physician in Macclesfield, Cheshire and six months as a House Surgeon in Crawley, Surrey. Very much in need for a change of scene by then, she then went on to spend a year in New Zealand working in a hospital in Wanganui. This was accompanied by some exciting travel before returning to the U.K. to spend six months doing Accident & Emergency medicine in Cheshire. She went on to complete her GP training during the course of which she met and married Richard and has since had several children. Her General Practice experience has been gained in Stratford-upon-Avon, Basingstoke, and now Redditch. She joined the Dow Surgery as a Retainer part-time doctor, and went on to become a partner a year later. In spite of vowing never to do any more examinations following her Under-Graduate training, she has passed the Diploma in Child Health, the diploma in Obstetrics and Gynae and the Royal College General Practice exam. She enjoys cycling ,swimming and walking and is a member of a health club to help stay fit. Her other interests include reading, music, gardening and travel.
