Why I became a Councillor: I moved to Sussex in 1996 and Hurstpierpoint in 2017. I ran the Chamber of Commerce in Sussex, a charity that managed the certification of all UK apprentices (FISSS) and a charity that provided Time Credits to people who used volunteering as a way of re-engaging with society (Tempo Time Credits: A Time Credit is provided for an hour of volunteering and can be used in numerous places like gyms, sports and entertainment venues as well as for days out at the Tower of London and London Zoo). I stopped being paid for work at the beginning of 2023. I now devote my time to working with the Sussex Cancer Fund, the Geographical Association and Kidney Research UK. I hope that some of my experience can support our local communities. I am particularly interested in engaging more people in helping the Parish Council understanding what our communities most want for our villages.
