Ricky Goh

Ricky Goh began his career in the hotel and catering industry in 1966. He had worked with international hotel chains that include the Holiday Inns, Hyatt, Hilton, Regent International, Ramada, leading independent hotels and regional hotel groups such as Goodwood Group, CDL Hotels International (now part of Millenium and Copthorne) and Berjaya Hotels & Resorts. His employment took him to locations in the Asia Pacific, Fiji, United Kingdom, African Continent and the United States of America with most of the time spent in Asia. Ricky graduated from the International University of Independence Missouri USA with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration in 1989. He also successfully completed management courses conducted at Holiday Inn University in Memphis Tennessee USA. He obtained the CHA designation, the lodging industry's most professional honor and certification from the American Hotel and Motel Association in 1991. He is also a Certified Professional Manager with The Society of Business Practitioners, Manchester, United Kingdom Ricky was chosen twice as "Food and Beverage Director of the Year", an annual award of the Holiday Inns System in 1978 and 1979. He also led his team to win the prestigious "Excellence in Marketing in Hotels" Award conferred by the Singapore Tourist Promotion Board and the "PATA Gold Award for Excellence in Marketing" in 1987 and 1988 respectively when he was General Manager of the Ramada Hotel in Singapore. Ricky's experience in hospitality industry is not only confined to hotel and restaurant companies but also in senior management positions that include being CEO of exclusive membership Club like The Raffles Town Club Singapore where he was CEO from pre-opening in 1997 till successful operations into 2000. He also supervised one of the more successful Vacation ownership Clubs, Berjaya Vacation Club in Malaysia from 1993 till 1997. Ricky was featured 2 years running on publications "SALUT - A Taste for Excellence" in year 2005 and "Excelsior - A Tradition of Excellence" in 2006. Ricky was honored with the "Outstanding Hospitality Leadership Award" for 2006-2007 at the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards. Ricky was chosen to receive the "Fonterra Lifetime Achievement Award" at the 2007 World Gourmet Summit in Singapore on 21st April 2007 organized by Peter Knipp Holdings and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board.
