Certainly an aircraft needs to be well maintained to preserve the history and stories that surround it. An aircraft is of significant size and requires a workforce to upkeep and to regularly carry out set protocols in maintaining its appearance and historic importance... Aircrafts are towed to the maintenance hangar where the maintenance team are responsible for external cleaning, to remove dust, dirt and grime. It is preferred by the museum that a dry wash takes place, although this requires a greater number of cleaning personnel, it allows other maintenance crew to work on the aircrafts internal components and carry out internal cleaning at the same time.
