ACCOUNTING DAY

Accounting Day began in 1972 as a live, in person, annual educational event usually held in May of each year. It grew into a large event with attendees from all areas of accounting, significant student involvement and great opportunities for sponsors. Beginning in about 2004 the date of the event moved to the 2nd or 3rd Monday of May. Why these days? With increased attendance, more and more attendees had conflicts with month-end close, tax or audit deadlines and these two weeks seemed to work best with the month-end Memorial Day Holiday that follows.
