ADVANCE WARNING SYSTEM

The NYC Advance Warning System alerts organizations that serve people with people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs to various types of hazards and emergencies in New York City. Participating organizations receive public preparedness and emergency information via e-mail or text messages. Organizations can then act upon this information in the way that best suits their clients. The NYC Advance Warning System is managed by the New York City Emergency Management Department in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the New York City Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities... Any agency or organization that works with people with disabilities or access and functional needs in New York City can register to receive AWS alerts.
