Our company has been operating as a family business since 2004 but has a history dating back 100 years. Since 2006, mining has been carried out through surface excavation, which means that clay is no longer mined deep underground but instead, heavy machinery is used to remove the large amount of Hárshegyi sandstone, one of the most beautifully veined stones in Hungary, from the top of the clay layers. This way, we can meet the needs of our partners and users with processed forms of clay. In the past, mining took place in underground tunnels, which can now be visited as a museum during exciting excursions or as part of mining tours... Our main product is a unique, custom-developed clay for building outdoor ovens and for the maintenance and renovation of earthen plaster and earthen houses, which we obtain through surface mining and process using grinding equipment. Our mine is located on the western side of the Cserhát region, in Felsőpetény, in an area called Romhányi-rög.
