Abigail P. Chrismer is an Account Executive with Ahern Insurance Brokerage (AHERN). With over 15 years of experience in the Insurance Brokerage industry, Abby has gained a reputation built on establishing long-term quality relationships with her clients while providing professional, consultative Insurance services. Starting as an Administrative Assistant in 2012 and working herself up to an Executive, Abby has proved to be a valued part of AHERN's team and gained a respected expertise in Law Firms. She is commended for prompt and accurate assessments of situations, enabling her to be extremely diligent and productive with all her work. Throughout her vast history and knowledge of the industry, she continues to grow in areas of guidance, marketing, troubleshooting, organization, and communication, while always maintaining a positive and productive attitude with clients and associates. Prior to Insurance, Abby worked in the Food & Beverage Industry for Omni Hotels and other catering outfits; interacting with different aspects of Food and Beverage Operations within the hotel as well as exploring other functions, such as the Sales Department. She managed and supervised the Restaurant and Banquet Services and received daily exposure to a wide variety of skills and extensive knowledge training in the entire Hospitality Industry. Abby developed management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people and resources - providing enhanced customer and personal services; including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

DANIEL W. HAGER - Chief Legal Officer

Daniel is Corporate Counsel to Ahern Insurance Brokerage (AHERN) and provides AHERN's clients with risk management consulting and insurance coverage counsel, in order to minimize loss and maximize claim recoveries. A recognized expert in lawyers' malpractice prevention and legal ethics, Daniel has provided consultations and risk management services to law firms for more than 20 years. Before joining AHERN, Dan was a partner at AV rated Roeca Haas Hager LLP, where he defended lawyers against malpractice and other claims for more than 25 years.

GABRIEL E. YU - VP

Gabe is a Vice President at Ahern Insurance Brokerage (AHERN). With over 14 years in the insurance industry, Gabe's extensive experience with a variety of clients has given him invaluable experience. JAKE DENSON

Jake Denson joined Ahern Insurance Brokerage (AHERN) in early 2021. Jake is responsible for new business development as well as assisting his law firm clients. Jake has quickly become a great asset to the AHERN team all while successfully strengthening business relationships as well as building new ones with clients. Previous to joining AHERN, Jake was in the Navy where he was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was voted sailor of the quarter while on the USS Nimitz. He then went on to excel in Health and Life Insurance, building a book that reached over 1M in sales. Jake is a proud member and supporter of the Disabled American Veterans Organization and the American Legion.

Jim Budish - EVP

Jim Budish brings in over thirty one years of experience, twenty-two of which he spent as the owner of Budish Insurance Services. He has become a self-made success as an entrepreneur. In addition to his significantly successful background, Budish specializes in lawyers professional liability insurance, a niche that fits perfectly with the Ahern Insurance platform.

Kelley L. Milks - EVP

Kelley is an Executive Vice President at AHERN Insurance Brokerage (AHERN). She has worked in the insurance industry for over 35 years, specializing in the risks of law firms for over 20 years. In her role with AHERN, Kelley provides clients with expertise in all exposures: professional liability, employment practices, workers' compensation, fiduciary, commercial property and casualty. She holds the designations of Certified Insurance Counselor, Certified Risk Manager and Registered Professional Liability Underwriter. Her responsibilities also include developing new business. Kelley has actively supported the Association of Legal Administrators by providing seminars at national, regional and local events. She has also provided educational classes on the local level for the Certified Legal Managers designation.

MICHAEL T. DAVIDSON - EVP, VP

Mike Davidson is a Vice President at Ahern Insurance Brokerage (AHERN). He brings over 30 years of experience within the insurance industry. Mike's responsibilities with AHERN include developing new business with mid to large size firms in the area of professional liability insurance. Prior to joining AHERN, Mike's background included the handling of commercial litigated claims with Golden Eagle Insurance. Before his employment with Golden Eagle, he was with Carl Warren & Company working as a claims administrator and focusing on loss prevention. His client's included Costco, McKesson Corporation and Hewlett-Packard. Mike is a graduate of Chico State University where he earned his degree in Business Administration.

Randy T. Gust

In addition to being a brand ambassador and trusted advisor for the agency, Randy Gust's responsibilities also include advancing the company's strategic initiatives, new business development and assisting firms with their professional liability insurance coverage. Randy brings over 20 years of vast experience in management, market strategy, new business development and contract negotiation. Prior to joining AHERN, Randy's background included 10 years in the Real Estate industry. During his tenure as Real Estate Manager with CB Richard Ellis, Randy managed the operations of a diverse portfolio of multi-tenant, industrial and office properties in San Diego totaling approximately 650,000 square feet. Randy was accountable for all facets of operations, construction, budgeting, maintenance, vendor and tenant relations, where he ensured quality customer service and communication skills. Randy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Colorado State University.

Reid A. Middleton - EVP

Reid is a California licensed attorney and insurance adviser with extensive business and legal expertise in employee benefit programs, business succession planning and overall risk management. Prior to joining AHERN; from 1995 through 1998, Reid served as in-house counsel to UCSD Healthcare where he advised physician groups and hospital systems as to insurance reimbursement, capitation and risk pools, managed care and employee benefit programs. From 1998 through 2001, he served as Senior Corporate Counsel to ALARIS Medical Systems; a $550 million publicly traded medical device and software company with 2,500 employees doing business in 120 countries. From 2001 through 2004, he served as General Counsel and Secretary for The Upper Deck Company, one of the largest sports and entertainment publishing companies in the world. Following his experience at The Upper Deck Company, Reid founded an employee benefits practice group providing benefit planning and insurance guidance to a wide range of businesses from leading technology providers to law firms. Reid holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Juris Doctor from The University of San Diego, School of Law where he was a member of the San Diego Law Review and served as its Lead Articles Editor. He holds life, health and property/casualty licenses in several states and is a registered representative offering securities through Crown Capital Securities, LP. He is also a published author and a member of the California and San Diego Bar Associations.

Shawn M. Royle

Shawn Royle has over 16 years of business development and management experience. Shawn utilizes his knowledge as well as his understanding of the insurance industry to assist his law firm clients. Before joining AHERN, Shawn was with American International Group. In this role, Shawn grew his territory to become the fourth most profitable in the nation. This experience as an insurance adjuster has proven to be useful in his position at AHERN, as insurers need help opening claims effectively. Shawn also gained valuable experience during his position at Preferred Employers Insurance Company where he played an important role in creating marketing strategies. Shawn holds a B.A. in Management from the University of Houston.

Sheila M. Denessen

STEPHEN T. LOWE - EVP

Steve is an Executive Vice President at AHERN Insurance Brokerage (AHERN). Steve brings over 22 years of insurance experience in the development and service of professional liability programs for attorneys. Steve's responsibilities at AHERN include managing the Professional Liability Program for the State Bar of Arizona, where AHERN is an Official Member Benefit Provider. Steve also manages a significant client base and is responsible for new business development. Steve's extensive experience began with the national agency of Hilb Rogal and Hamilton, then as the Professional Liability Specialist for Arthur J. Gallagher. After Gallagher, he designed, implemented and headed the Western Region for Great American's Professional Liability Program. Steve is a graduate of San Diego State University, where he earned a degree in Business Management.

Tami Bartels - VP

Tami Bartels is a Vice President and an industry veteran having worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years, specializing in the risks of law offices for the past 17 years. In her role with AHERN, Tami is responsible for new and renewal business development. She provides clients with the transfer of risk in all exposures: professional liability, employment practices, workers' compensation, fiduciary, crime, cyber/privacy, general liability, property and automobile coverage. Tami holds the designations of Certified Insurance Counselor. She actively supports the Association of Legal Administrators and has provided educational classes on the local level for the Certified Legal Managers designation. In addition, Tami has provided the services of Expert Witness/Consultant for workers' compensation and crime/fidelity coverage.
