AIRCAPITAL - Key Persons
Andy has over 30 years of aircraft finance and leasing experience, developed while at Manufacturers Hanover Leasing Corporation, The CIT Group, Parrish Leasing Corporation and Republic Financial Corporation prior to AirCapital. Mr. LaStella has developed highly sophisticated equipment management functions for all asset management related issues as well as having created several lease investment structures to create value and has advised lessors and lenders on remedial management issues. He originated and closed one of the first aircraft structured finance transactions, the 1995 Pendulum Investment Trust and has handled equipment sales and dispositions, managed workouts of lease and loan transactions and farmed lease portfolios for profit opportunities.
Don's past and present responsibilities encompass originating, overseeing and/or successfully marketing the interests in over 70 commercial aircraft with an aggregate value in excess of $1.6 billion and include the development of an asset management system to oversee and manage the aviation assets. The transactions have included complex tax advantaged leases and short term operating leases. Don served as Equity Trustee and as a Controlling Trustee for the management of the syndication "Aircraft Finance Trust".
Karl served as an airline executive with P&L responsibility for fleet planning, aircraft and engine acquisition, flight and technical operations until he was rescued from the airline business in 1999 by Compass Capital Corporation. Since becoming an aircraft trader, he has profitably traded and leased over 100 aircraft and engines with many counterparties around the globe. His strong technical foundation spans the disciplines of flight operations, engineering, maintenance programs, reliability, production and quality control. At AirCapital he performs deal analytics, originates transactions and presents transactions to potential investors.
