Brian McAdams - CEO

Brian McAdams has served as a Chief Executive Officer for more than 25 years. He began his rise in business as a well-known packaged goods advertising executive. He founded McAdams and Ong with Tom Ong in 1977 and acquired the Mel Richman design agency in 1985, then named McAdams, Richman and Ong. The agency won more than 1000 creative awards before it was sold in 1996. In 1994 he was elected CEO of National Media Corporation (NYSE), one of the world's largest television direct marketing companies. He became CEO of My Help Desk Inc. in Boston, an award-winning technology company, and then became CEO of Passport Express in Providence, Rhode Island. The Company became the largest expediter of passports and visa to consumers in the US. In 2004, he co-founded what was to become Emtec Inc. and served as Vice Chairman of this large technology systems and services company until 2010. Today he serves as Chairman of three technology companies and serves on a number of corporate boards. He is also a partner in Cecond Opinion, a corporate advisory for C Level executives. During his career he served as Chairman of many civic and charitable organizations including the Boy Scouts and the Better Business Bureau. He graduated from St Joseph's University Haub School of Business. In 1996 he was inducted into the School's business Hall of fame. He was also named Communications ‘Man of the Year', frequently recognized for his accomplishments and has received numerous accolades and awards throughout his career.

Caroline Baird

Caroline Baird, with more than 20 years' experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, is the former Vice President of European Research and Development for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare where she was responsible for medical, regulatory and product development activities. With extensive experience in prescription, OTC and generic products and devices, Ms. Baird is a leading European Regulatory Affairs expert, having directed Glaxo's International Regulatory Affairs Department, GlaxoWellcome's Regulatory Compliance Group and Wyeth Consumer Healthcare's European Regulatory Affairs function. In addition to the above, she has global marketing experience having been jointly responsible for launching a novel antibiotic at GlaxoWellcome. Mrs. Baird founded FarmaSOL, a management consulting firm in 1998 and is its CEO. She is currently working for Archimedes Pharma, a start-up pharmaceutical company, Boots LLC as well as other consultancy assignments. Mrs. Baird has a BSc (Honours) in Zoology from Southampton University.

Dr. Jim Ballard

Dr. Jim Ballard is the owner of Ballard Pest Management Consulting, LLC which was organized in 2008 to provide product development support to the professional pest management industry. For the past 25 years, Dr. Ballard had provided technical service and product development support to FMC Corporation and Dow Chemical Company. As a nationally known urban entomologist, Dr. Ballard has been involved with technology used to manage general household pests, termites, and turf insect pests. He is named on 14 patents and more than 100 publications and professional presentations.

Dr. Marla Gold

Dr. Marla Gold is the Dean of Drexel University's School of Public Health and a Professor of Health Management and Policy. She completed an internal medicine residency and infectious disease fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She previously served as Philadelphia's Assistant Health Commissioner for Infectious Disease Control in the Public Health Department, where she was responsible for all reportable and communicable diseases and conditions. Among her responsibilities, Dr. Gold represented the City of Philadelphia as the grantee for Ryan White CARE Act awards, CDC Cooperative Agreements for HIV, TB, and STD, and directed the design of a delivery system of HIV care among Philadelphia's eight public health centers. She directed the immunization program for the City. She also designed and established the largest comprehensive HIV/AIDS care program in the Greater Philadelphia Region known as The Partnership. Dr. Gold has extensive national experience working with community-based organizations, community leaders and coalitions on a wide range of public health issues. Prior to joining the Drexel School of Public Health in 2002, Dr. Gold served as Chief of the Division of HIV/AIDS Medicine at MCP Hahnemann University and Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine. Dr. Gold is interested in the relationship between public health and human rights and committed to addressing this critical area throughout the education, public health practice and research arms at the School. Her own research has focused on HIV service delivery and prevention programs for women with HIV/AIDS. Dr. Gold is a member of the State Children's Health Insurance Plan Advisory Board as well as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Health. Among her honors are the U.S. Public Service Assistant Secretary of Health Award for outstanding service to persons with HIV/AIDS, the Sisterhood Award from the National Commission of Christians and Jews and Health Care Provider of the Year in Pennsylvania from the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She has been listed as a "top doctor" for women with HIV/AIDS in Philadelphia Magazine and honored by the Mazzoni Center for her work with people with HIV/AIDS. IN November 2007, she was among the recipients of the "Women of Distinction" awards from the Philadelphia Business Journal for her life work in medicine and public health.

Gus Carey - Founder

With roots in the financial services industry, Mr. Carey founded Allergy Technologies in 2001, with a commitment to manufacture innovative, effective and consumer-friendly products to address issues impacting the environment and healthcare. After seeing the positive impact of Active Guard® liners on the lives of asthmatics, Mr. Carey was alerted by a state regulator to the significant potential for the active liners to help people wrestling with the physical and emotional effects of bed bugs. Today, hotel chains, apartment owners and pest management professionals are recommending the product for its effectiveness and ease of use. Mr. Carey is focused on ensuring that Active Guard® product claims are based on the result of scientific truth and rigor, and in addition to the company's Board of Directors, he has also assembled an outstanding group of scientific advisors and business advisors. Allergy Technologies is now the second largest funder of bed bug research in the United States. Mr. Carey is a former Chairman of the Corporate Advisory Council for the Financial Planning Association and of the Investment Program Association in Washington. A former Board Member of Miss Porter's School, Springside School (Chair of Development Committee) and the Highlands Mansion and Gardens (Treasurer), Mr. Carey is currently on the Board of the Philadelphia Zoo and is a member of the Board of Visitors at the Ambler Campus of Temple University.

Joseph S. Latino

Joseph S. Latino has over 20 years' experience in the overlapping fields of science and pest control. As President of Allergy Technologies, he oversees the market expansion of the company's proprietary fabric-based technology product, Active Guard® Mattress Liners, in both current and new markets. Mr. Latino also oversees business development, strategic market planning, key account management, retention, sales team management, merchandising operations, and contract negotiation. Before joining Allergy Technologies in 2009, Mr. Latino led the Corporate Development function for Rambug Pest Control for 12 years, overseeing the development and expansion of the company's client base. During his tenure, he established new service contracts with major property management companies, universities and colleges, and several brand-name retail chains. As a registered speaker for the New York State/New Jersey Departments of Environmental Control, Mr. Latino continues to develop and refine comprehensive and strategic bed bug surveillance, treatment and post-treatment control programs. Mr. Latino hails from the scientific world, having served as co-founder and CEO of AcquiSci, a privately-held company whose mission was to identify, acquire and develop undervalued and promising emergent medical technologies. He has also acted as a consultant and Head of Research for LipidViro Tech, as an extramural consultant for Health Canada, and served as Director of Special Hematology/Oncology Laboratories at The Brooklyn Hospital in New York. Mr. Latino was doctorally trained as a biochemist at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York, where he earned a Master's degree in Biochemistry. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from Brooklyn College.

Kevin Canavan

Kevin Canavan is a partner in the Philadelphia Toxic Tort group at Schwartz Campbell LLC. Mr. Canavan also handles contract disputes, bankruptcy, estate planning and trusts. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. Mr. Canavan attended Saint Joseph's Preparatory School, and graduated with honors from Lafayette College, in Easton, Pennsylvania. He majored in Government and Law. He earned his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law in 1979. Mr. Canavan is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations. From 1986 to 1991, he was on the Philadelphia Bar Association's Committee on Special Events. Mr. Canavan is a member of the Board of Directors of ZPT Foundation and the Tau Chapter Association of Zeta Psi Fraternity at his alma mater, Lafayette. Mr. Canavan has been the trustee of the J. Wood Platt Scholarship Trust of the Philadelphia Golf Association since 2003.

Richard O'Brien

Richard O'Brien, has broad experience in acquisitions and as a consultant and attorney in the insurance industry. Until September 2003, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Mutual Risk Management Ltd, a Bermuda based insurance and financial services firm listed on the NYSE. At Mutual Risk, he had primary responsibility for the company's active Mergers and Acquisition program completing in excess of twenty-five transactions between 1995 and 2002. He also oversaw the company's expansion into the financial services business. From 1981 until 1995, Mr. O'Brien was a partner and associate at Dunnington Bartholow & Miller, a law firm in New York City focusing on assisting foreign companies in registration and reporting requirements with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and in public and private financing transactions in the U.S. Mr. O'Brien is admitted to practice law in New York and Ireland. He is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin with an honors degree in Economics and Politics.
