Dr. Ammon Hills

Dr. Hills is an interventional pain management specialist who uses a comprehensive approach to relieve suffering and improve quality of life. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. During his undergraduate at Utah State University, he met and married his wife Kristen, and later graduated with a degree in exercise and sport science from the University of Utah. He completed a Masters degree in Biomedical Science at Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona and went on to attend medical school at A.T. Still University in Kirksville Missouri. He completed a Transitional Year Internship at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern in Dallas Texas. While there, he received the Arete award for altruism in 2017, the Senior Resident of the Year award in 2018, and served as the academic chief resident. He then completed a pain medicine fellowship at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento California. During his training, he was actively involved in the community and with research and remains affiliated with UC Davis co-authoring a book on implantation techniques for spinal cord stimulation. When Dr. Hills is not working, he enjoys hiking, soccer, anything outdoors, and spending time with his wife and four daughters. Dr. Hills is excited to be joining Alpine Orthopaedic Specialists and looks forward to helping his patients recover and continue living their lives, pain-free.

Dr. Ashley Crum

Ashley Crum, MD, is a fellowship trained Sports Medicine specialist as well as an Emergency Medicine physician. Dr. Crum offers non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and other sports related injuries for both males and females of all ages. Dr. Crum grew up in Cache Valley and is thrilled to return home to promote lifelong wellness and fitness in the community. As a former college athlete and athletic trainer, and now as an Emergency Physician and Sports Medicine Specialist, she has the training and experience to diagnose and manage her patients' problems with the latest techniques. These problems range from acute/traumatic injuries to chronic injuries that limit a patient's ability to be healthy and active. She is excited to join Alpine Orthopaedics Specialists and looks forward to providing excellent care. Her goal is to promote community education and awareness of injury prevention and healthy lifestyles.

Dr. Brad Larson

Dr. Larson knew from an early age he wanted to be a doctor. A picture when he was three years old shows him wearing a white doctor's coat and a play stethoscope around his neck. Upon receiving his doctorate of medicine from the University of Utah, he was able to don that white coat for real. He continued his Orthopaedic training at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, but he has never stopped learning and expanding his knowledge of medicine. Dr. Larson has been at the forefront of the profession. He is a leader in meniscal allograft and was the first surgeon in Utah to use Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation, where the patient's own cartilage is grown in a lab than implanted back in to their knee. Dr. Larson continues to research and work as a consultant to develop new technology to improve on procedures and to aid in patient recovery. Dr. Brent A. Felix

Dr. Felix is fascinated by the constant improvement in spine surgery and is involved at many levels with research and development of cutting-edge spinal procedures. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Utah and his orthopaedic training from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He then pursued his fellowship training in spine surgery from the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Felix is passionate about humanitarian work and partners with surgeons in Peru to bring life-changing procedures to people who do not have access to specialized physicians.

Dr. David Rowley

Dr. Rowley is an Orthopaedic surgeon with advanced training in sports medicine. He graduated from Brigham Young University and then completed medical school at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. While in San Antonio he worked with San Antonio Spurs and local high schools. He then completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Minnesota Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Institute in Minneapolis. During his fellowship he worked with the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Gophers football and wrestling teams, Hamline University, Macalester College and several Minneapolis high schools. During his training he published several journal articles and recently completed a book chapter. Dr. Rowley is dedicated to helping others regain mobility and activity by using the latest techniques. He enjoys taking care of patients of all ages and activity levels. He looks forward to joining the other providers at Alpine Orthopaedics in providing excellent care to northern Utah. Dr. Rowley is married and has two boys.

Dr. Erik Peterson

Dr. Peterson, attended the University of Toledo Medical School and completed his orthopedic surgery residency in Ohio. While there, he was given the Orthopedic Student of the Year award, along with medical school academic honors. He went on complete his Hand and Upper Extremity fellowship at the University of New Mexico. His research there focused on optimal techniques for wrist reconstruction, while he honed his microsurgical techniques in the operating room. While he excels in his medical endeavors, he also keeps in touch with the community by volunteering his free time to many community and church organizations. Dr. Peterson was born and raised in Holladay, Utah and completed his undergraduate education at the University of Utah. He is fluent in Italian and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. He resides in North Logan with his wife and three children. He enjoys working with patients of all ages in restoring a healthy and fulfilling quality of life, understanding that our hands are a crucial part of how we interact with the world around us.

Dr. Jacob B. Pugsley

Dr. Pugsley earned his degree from Midwestern University's College of Osteopathic Medicine, interned at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Indiana, and completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Indiana University. Dr. Pugsley is a licensed osteopathic physician and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. While an undergraduate at Utah State University, Dr. Pugsley competed in the Decathlon and was the captain of the track and field team. In addition, Dr. Pugsley has volunteered as medical staff for the Boy Scouts of America, the Disabled Water Ski National Championships, and several collegiate sports teams. He applies his experience in athletics to improve sports and occupational rehabilitation for his patients. Dr. Pugsley provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, including the use of diagnostic ultrasound and electrodiagnostic studies (EMGs). Dr. Keith J. Nelson

Dr. Nelson is a Cache Valley native who has always been involved with sports. His love for sports is what inspired his practice and specialty in sports medicine. He takes great pride in surgically repairing injured athletes and assisting them with getting back to competition. He followed his graduation from the University of Utah Medical School with orthopaedic training at the University of Southern California. Dr. Nelson then completed his fellowship training under E. Marlowe Goble, M.D. in sports medicine and knee disorders. Dr Nelson is an innovator who works as a consultant developing new arthroscopic tools to aid in surgery. He is one of the first surgeons in Utah to perform arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. AOS gives Dr. Nelson the perfect venue to perform his innovative treatments. Dr. Michael L. Clegg

Dr. Clegg is a Physiatrist. A physiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Clegg earned his medical degree at the University of Utah and completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Clegg's expertise is in occupation medicine, sports medicine and non-surgical orthopaedic medicine. He is skilled in nerve testing (EMG studies), as well as precise fluoroscopically guided joint and spinal injections (trigger point injections). As a rehabilitation physician, he treats a wide range of problems. His goal is to decrease pain and enhance performance without surgery. He takes the time needed to accurately pinpoint the source of an ailment. He then designs a treatment plan that can be carried out by the patient or with the help of his medical team. This medical team might include other physicians and health professionals, such as neurologists, orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists.

Michael Hoffman

Dr. Hoffman is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who takes great satisfaction in providing the best orthopedic care possible.
