Dr. Brian Wade

Dr. Brian Wade O.D., has been a licensed optometrist with Alpine Eye Care since 2017. His clinical experience includes comprehensive eye exams with refraction, contact lenses, pre- and post-management of surgical patients following cataract and glaucoma surgery, and ocular disease treatment and management. Dr. Wade received his doctorate from Michigan College of Optometry in May 2014. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Michigan Optometric Association. When not in the office, Dr. Wade enjoys hunting, fishing and camping throughout northern Michigan and the upper peninsula.

Gaylord MI

Gaylord MI is a small town which offers a unique appeal to families and individuals. Located at the exact center of Northern Michigan on the 45th parallel, Gaylord is at the center of it all. Nicknamed the Alpine Village, Gaylord is known for its recreation and its culture. A hub in Northern Michigan, Gaylord features good schools, fine amenities including shopping and dining and lots of recreational opportunities including Otsego Lake, one of the largest lakes in Northern Michigan.

Jeffrey K. Chaulk

Jeffrey K. Chaulk, M.D., P.C medical director at Alpine Eye Care, is a licensed physician and surgeon and a leader in cataract surgery. Dr. Chaulk was one of the first ophthalmologists in the area to perform small incision cataract surgery. With more than 25 years experience in cataract surgery, he is a pioneer in cataract removal and lens implant procedures. Dr. Chaulk has participated in numerous clinical studies and has performed more than 35,000 cataract surgery procedures. He also has a special interest in dry eye treatment along with treatment of symptomatic vitreous floaters. (Click the video below to learn more) Dr. Chaulk has also performed refractive surgery on surgeons, nurses and many other health care professionals. He has rapidly established a reputation as a caring physician, with the ability to manage a wide variety of eye problems. By providing a unique combination of high tech surgical management and warm, personal patient care, he has gained the trust of patients and physicians alike.

Michael L. Habryl

Dr. Habryl's training allows him to diagnose and treat a wide variety of other eye conditions such as: glaucoma, ocular hypertension, floaters, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, dry eyes, eyelid lesions and ocular infections. He performs many in-office procedures including lasers for a variety of conditions and retinal injections for conditions with swelling of the retina. Dr. Habryl completed his ophthalmology residency through Michigan State at Hillsdale Community Health Center, and medical school training at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was raised in Gaylord, Michigan, and is proud to have returned and now provide patients in Northern Michigan with the newest advancements in eye care. Dr. Habryl has quickly earned a well respected reputation in the ophthalmic profession.

William R. Shouldice

William R. Shouldice, O.D. has been with Alpine Eye Care since July 1998. His clinical experience at Alpine Eye Care includes pre and post management of surgical patients including cataract, glaucoma, CK and more. Dr. Shouldice focuses on comprehensive optometric care including ocular disease diagnosis and management. His treatment includes prescribing ophthalmic medications to properly treat diseases. In addition to treating ocular disease, Dr. Shouldice routinely prescribes contact lenses and glasses. Dr. William Shouldice received his doctorate of optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in May 1998.
