AMERICAN RESEARCH AND TESTING

American Research and Testing Inc was founded in 1982 by Dr. Rita Boggs, a Physical Chemist and former nun. Barbara Belmont came on board in 1983, serving first as Lab Director, then ultimately President beginning 2008. In the beginning, American Research and Testing Inc. focused on testing materials - textiles, polymers, and composites - for quality assurance. As their expertise grew, the lab began offering custom chemical analysis and product defect troubleshooting services, which developed into highly acclaimed VOC compliance testing and consulting services for coatings and consumer products. Rita passed away in 2019. By then, Barbara had already planned to retire in 2021 to focus her final productive years in the work force as a university analytical chemistry instructor to help develop the next generation of scientists.
