AMIS President and Founder Bill West began his career in the insurance industry in 1965, and shortly thereafter he started a Private Investigation, Insurance Adjusting, and Third Party Administration business. In 1990 he assembled a professional liability package for specifically for Private Investigation companies. Since that time AMIS has formed and developed excellent working relationships with our insurance providers, and that allows us to provide stable, quality, and affordable insurance coverage to meet your specific need.
Bill began his insurance career in 1965 working as a part-time insurance adjuster. In 1967 he entered into the Private Investigator field, and in 1970 he purchased a Private Investigation Agency. Then in 1975 he opened an Insurance Adjusting agency and later a Third Party Administration Agency. During this time he also handled claims for Rockwell International. In 1987 Bill started his own insurance agency, which has now expanded into a nationwide insurance agency including both retail and surplus lines operations. The agency has a number of niche markets that Bill has helped developed, and many of his specialized programs have become very competitive in the marketplace.
Bill West, founder, has been in the insurance business since 1965 and has a background in insurance claims adjusting, third-party administration, private investigations, private security, and patrol operations. He has handled third-party administration for clients like Rockwell International and adjusted insurance claims for Cuna Mutual throughout California.
Michelle Nowell began working at AMIS in 1990 as a clerical assistant while finishing up her AA Degree at Palomar College. She went on to obtain her insurance license and began selling and servicing clients in the Investigation, Security, and Alarm Industry. In 2003 Michelle moved over to the Surplus Lines business where she became a partner with Bill West. She now handles accounting and tax filings for all states.
Nancy began her insurance career in 1968 with United Pacific Insurance, where she worked as a Personal Lines Assistant Underwriter and Rater. She joined Bill and his Private Investigation, Insurance Adjusting and Third Party Administration Agencies in 1973. In 1987 she again joined Bill in his new insurance agency, which has now expanded into two agencies, one of which is nationwide − AMIS/Alliance Marketing & Insurance Services. Nancy handles all the policy setup, premium financing and financial matters for both agencies.
Nancy West, co-founder, has been in the insurance industry since 1968 and has a background in personal lines as an assistant underwriter and rater. She joined Bill in the business in 1973, and they have worked together ever since.
Bill and Nancy's daughter, Michelle Nowell, joined AMIS in 1990, and became a partner in 2003. She is in charge of the Surplus/Excess Lines tax filings for all 50 states, working closely with each insurance company to accomplish this.
